Reagan, STAR WARS!

sorry it created on accident:)

what do you think?

with Russia flexing its muscle, i figure this would be a good time to discuss this...

I think the threat of retaliation is great enough. The cost of running that program would be be large, but then again, with the US military, money seems no object.

but what about somthing like this...

ICBM inbound on NYC ETA 30min... what would you do?

take it, and wait and see what they hit next?

imediatly shoot one at where ever that one came from?

or shoot the fucker down over the ocean?

i for one would take the last one...

the only one that ends in life's being saved is my choice...

Too bad if Russia ever launched an ICBM, it would be a MIRV missile, and we would have to worry about more than just new york...

But whatever happened to our laser network? The Boeing 747 laser aircraft only destroys missiles on the descent. MIRVs would have released an already falling by that time.

I think we have a land based laser system, but i think that is only for cruise missiles.

i am talking about a missile in a general sense.... (not specifically Russia)

who knows where the big one might come from.... but i for one think it would be better to blow that fucker up instead of have it obliterate New york, Washington, or LA...

haha you guys are all silly. dont you know that if russia wanted us dead, we would be already??? russians would drown us in their expensively smooth vodka.

How many times has that happened? Seriously, it would be a disaster, and untold lives would be lost... but I think the actual real life chances of something escalating to that scale are ridiculously small. An asteroid colliding with Earth seems more eminent than these situations. Its like the "do you torture a guy if he holds the stop code for a bomb thats going to kill a million people in three minutes". Its ridiculous to prepare for such an event because these events just simply dont happen.

hope for the best, plan for the worst...

how many times has an airliner flown into a sky scraper? yeah, we didnt prepare for that one so well did we?

As far as I'm concerned....Fuck nukes. Radiation is just rediculous and they are extremely expensive. Plus your just wasting valuable uranium that could be used for energy.

Instead just use orbital bombardment. Release a Tungsten rod about the size of a missile from space and let the kinetic energy do the talking. Nuclear size explosion, without the effects.

Yeah totally. Now we just have to prepare for mutant cyborgs that can make our hearts explode with seismic waves! Oh and don't forget about the ever increasing risk of bears!
