It's decent...definitely not Poor Boyz best effort. It's mainly park, which is to be expected, but it gets old. There are a few segments that are ok, but mostly the movie is mediocre.

I really enjoyed Propaganda...but maybe becuase that was just at the time, and it was a real breakthrough. The Game and 13 are also good. I just think I'm getting burnt out on watching the same type of material year after year.

I don't see the same stuff year after year. The people at Poor Boyz are VERY original people, and I'm sure they wouldn't be in the business still if all they showed was the same type of clips year after year. I enjoyed RFA a lot, it is a very fun movie. I think it represents skiing the way it should be...fun. I enjoyed RFA better than 1242. 1242 was too serious for me, but oh well, RFA is a great movie and so is 1242...get them both you won't be disappointed.

They are both great movies. 1242 seems like it may be more progressive, but RFA was awesome aswell. It was nice to see the amount of back country and even a couple of deep powder segs. I would definately recomend both of these videos.

RFA was alright i still think that i like the MSP stuff better even though the music sucks this year i have not got my copy of 1242 though so i will have to wait and see

 
yeah, ive seen RFA and i thought that it was the best ski movie that i have seen so far but i have yet to see 1242 and i hear that it's sick, we are going to buy it this week-end..

 
I've watched 1242 a couple of times now, and I really do not think it's all that progressive. Pep's part is. Mike Wilson and Peter Olenick own it in RFA. that flatspin 5 tweaked out mute than wilson does is the most stylish flatspin there has ever been

RFA KILLS Happy Days and is better than Propaganda also. 1242 is a little better than RFA, only because RFA has too many people in it.

RFA was way better than Happy Dayz but stacking up to this years videos I'd say Focused was a little bit better and Session 1242 was the best.

i agree with mommy! forward slightly dissappointed me, not as good as everyone had hyped it up to be. but yeah, RFA is an awesome movie. lots of variety in the music. hernik windstedt its freakin amazing

^What the fuck's the point in that? You watch movies as a whole,especially the first time. Steele's section has nice tricks,pretty mediocre music,but is waaaaay overedited. Forward does it better once again. Steele's bio spins....sugar.

dumonts seg should of been longer

pollards and henriks segs were great

abmas was cool except for the music

belangers kinda sucked

crighton's was nice

iannicks was sick

cr's was cool

bushfield/symms/sarah/larose/mcmurray's segs rocked

steels was awesome

and the rest could of been better

Candide was the best way to end it

yeah ready fire aim was deff. a good movie except that weve seen it all u have to expect not to see anything special, of course i bet it really cut down what would've happened on the movie if joel dint die

 
i saw both poor boyz movies at the boulder premier and i thought rfa was actually better than session 1242. rfa was a lot more fun to watch. most of the oakley team spent the entire winter being flown all over the world to film their segments and they weren't all that much better than the rfa guys who filmed here in north america and some of the oakley segments didn't even come close to being as good as rfa's.

one thing that came to mind watching 1242 concerning backcountry and big mountain: most of us will never get the chance to be flown to europe and alaska like the oakley team and we'll never get the chance to ski that kind of stuff.

everyone is saying progression in the sport is backcountry kickers and big mountain lines. how can something that most of will never get the opportunity to do progress the sport the most? i think the thing that has been great about parks is that almost everyone has access to them. that's where the sport will continue to progress with all of us regular guys.

 
It's all a matter of opinion. You can't tell someone they're wrong for liking one movie over another. Just go whatch them for yourself and make up your own friggin' mind.

RFA was nuts

that one segment of steel spence had unbelievable editing.

i think its phil larose where they took the music out and only left in the sound effects of him skiing, very sick.

movies defiently need to progress a little, like their getting some good shots and all, but they need to find newer and better ways of doing things.

and i dont know why but any ski video makes me want to cry.

someone said that session 1242 was serious but I hope they were kidding cuz just about every part in it had some funny stuff such as boyd just being boyd and jons party boy thing and philou and jf dressed up as street workers and pluss the dvd extras are freaking hillarious! And it is definetly progressive! its got pep landing switch in powder, anthony and jf spinning just about everything unnatural, and tanners style was insane

RFA: sick- most of the footage is sick, dont like the szocs, douglas parts, but pollard and candide def stand out, some really good songs.

1242: more progressive than the other videos, some amazing footage, it's oakley, hello! but, all in all even though it was amazing, but left out the goosebumps that propaganda, ski movie 3, and strike 3 gave me. peps segment was the only segment that left me with that feeling, soundtrack coulda be better, dont get it for seth, b/c MSP owns him, and all his footage, so dont expect anything from any of the big mt. sections, all old footage

forward: not as good as strike 3, some good stuff, but the soundtrack was lacking, and i just wasnt as juiced as i could have been, sick movie, def worth it, plus the extras are pretty sick
