Has skiing really got to that point? For the most part, and I do say this generally, but people on this site who post videos seem to think they are pretty ghetto. The videos include words like 'suckas' and every third word is 'steez'. Some punk jibs some pinner ass rail in his back yard and he's got shirts and jerseys hanging out the side like a gangsta and he's all decked out in Oakley gear to look like he's sponsored. Everyone seems to think they are pretty ghetto and hardcore, yet they come online to argue about whether it was a '270' or '269' off the rail or if it was a 'cork 7' or 'dspin' and so on.

I guess my point is that why has skiing, or maybe just NS.com come down to all this arguing about such bullshit when everyone thinks they are so core. I'll admit I am an ass. I'll admit I'm not the best skier. But I'll also admit that most of the people on here are total tools who think they're ghetto. Do we want these skiers representing us as a whole? Skiing already has a pretty bad reputation in the general public. They still show the old school skiing from the 80's with no shape skis and one piece neon suits on T.V. So people don't even understand the whole 'revolution' (which will be the topic of my next forum)of skiing. Lets say someone who has never skied before saw this dude in the lodge all dressed sick like and looked pretty illin', but then found out he absolutely sucked at skiing and was a total online nerd arguing with his cyber butt buddies on whether it was a 'flair' or an 'underflip'. Who cares?

For those of you who are sick, step up and get these fuckers to stop giving skiing a bad name; for those of you who are not, go bitch about what to wear this weekend, or if that dress makes your ankles look fat, because we are sick of hearing you bitch about what your member number is and how much longer you've been on NS than me. I thank you.

well put man, but honestly who gives a fuck. go out and ski for yourself and have a good time with your buddies. dont worry about whos representin and what kind of image skiing has, fuck it, go and have fun. it is sad that some people make it a fashion show but theres bigger things in life to worry about than shit like this

 
I concur with tremblant and just be happy. If you have the skills, wear what you want. If you don't have the skills... worry about them first then the image. On top of that said, chicks dig skills. On slope and off slope.

 
dude i dont care that skiing is still perceived as 80's neon one pices and skis to match. i know that i love the freestyle/freeride scene that we have and that includes this website. i hope we aren't known. i like the exclusivity on slope and the fact that we are kinda underground and rebel-esc. fuck the world and express yourself on the slopes dude cos who cares wot u look like as long as your havin fun and rippin the mountain 2 pieces. AND the best thing is turning snowboarders heads as we go higher and pull more shit than they can dream of. so dude go easy on the ppl on this site cos just cos they xpress themselves in different ways doesnt matter a fucking bit.

Cheers toothless, couldn't agree more, too much attitude often NOT backed up by with style in skiing today. Unless you can ski like Tanner, DONT HAVE A BIG ASS ATTITUDE. STYLE is sexy, not some poser who talks big and wears 'ghetto hardcore' clothes and can only flail around in the pipe.

Also remember, there are many types of skiing, and respect them all. It takes as much balls to wear a skin suit and rip a GS course a 70 mph as to boost in the pipe. (Altho I'd rather be in the pipe)
