dude you can import a SKYLINE for that money, or a 1993 twin turbo RX-7. you know.....Godzilla of japan. Stop watching the fast and the furious, and get a car with real potential. YOu are going to have such a hard time finding quality parts for this car it is not even going to be funny. Those other guys look pretty tough right now with their Eclipeses, but when you blow by them in a car that you know you can trust, then that is the best feeling in the world.

you have got to be the dumbest person ive heard yet. A fucking 70,000$ skyline.. you fuck. Or a 1993 $20,000 RX-7 TWIN TURBO thats fucking 23 years old, like that would be easy to get and mantain. I'd trust a 6 years old eclipse over something 4x its age. Stop pretending like every car is attainable to a 16 year old with a $6,000 limit+ simple mods...

umm, i havent looked into importing a skyline, but my guess is thats really expensive, and still not street legal. not to mention he could only afford a 1g skyline or a super beat 2g. and why would he want that? as for the rx-7, its a fast car but the rotary motor will give you all sorts of costly problems. not to mention one in decent condition with 100k miles will go for about 3 to 4 times what a nice eclipse would. unless your talking about an older rx-7, but i would rather have a newer car for the money and i think this kid would too. you should take a look at some integras, its a really solid driver thats really easy and fun to mod.

in canada we can import cars 15 years or older and be registered legally and i believe be exempt from emissions. now i probably bet that you kids don't know that there exists other skylines other then the r34 which was won critical acclaim from you fanboys that watch fast and furious. there are the r32 gtr/gts-t and r33 gtr/gts-t. however we are on the brink of importing r33, but a r32 gtr and gts-t can be had at reasonable prices. what puts people off from getting these cars is the costly repairs that you will incur if you get in an accident. even minute things to a windshield crack can create a big headache for an owner of an imported car that was never slated for the north american market. the apple auto glass will just laugh at you and say good luck.

when I read your list the first thing I thought was "RICER"
a ricer to me is someone who puts upgrades on his car only to make it look fast where performance doesnt matter.
your first upgrade is a wing. thats useless. wings are so that when you get to a certain speed the place where you put the wing get downward pressure (downforce) this is so that your wheels stay glued to the ground and get more traction.
the thing is unless your getting an Eclipse GSX which is all-wheel drive only your front 2 wheels are transfering power to the ground. and downforce in the back wont do anything.
same thing as putting a wing on the back of a honda (except for the S2000)
im not going to tell you whqat upgrades you should get for your car. just know that anyone who is actually in the racing scene (not just guys who saw the Fast and the furious) is going to laugh at your car if you replace the wing on it.
here is one tip though bring it to a mechanic and get all your oil replaced with castrol syntec. it shouldnt be too expensive and itl make your car much better.
also every now and then try to get the Shell V power gas.
most states require an additive to be added to the gas which cleans it. the State of California law has a minumum requirement for this aditive which is higher than any other state in the US. V-power has about 4 times more of this aditive than the California minimum and about 3 times more than any other gas station in the US. the additive cleans your engine at the same time as it combusts so a couple of full tanks every now and then will increase your engine life and fuel efficiency.

One thing to consider with all your ideas is are you planning on driving this thing into the mountains. I used to have 19" and had my car on coilovers so I had almost no ground clearance. Car handled awesome on twisty roads that were well paved but after 3 bent rims (big bucks for BBS rims) and bottoming out over every speed bump, smacking the front when leaving parking garages and stuff. I rose it back to stock and now run 18" in the summer and 16" in the winter.
Instead of wasting your money modding your car go buy a better car to start with cause when you go to sell your car say goodbye to all that money...but if you buy a better car you will get more back. My last car was an 02 passat V6 and I supercharged it. 3 months later it got hit in a parking lot and pretty much ruined all the suspension. I fixed that, then a retread from a truck hit it and busted the oil pan...after that I decided enough was enough and got rid of the car cause I didnt know what damage was done to the engine. I probably put 6K into mods not including rims on the car and got about 2K for the supercharger...good thing I did all the labor myself. For what I spent on the car and put into mods I could have had a BMW 3 series which would have been a better idea looking back on it. Besides tinting I wouldnt mess with a car.

I still CANNOT believe your putting this much money into a 4cyl Eclipse. You won't need all those performance parts if you get the GT. Your going to have a car that looks like it can ripp up the streets but in reality the only thing your going to be beating is hondas.

dude....listen to this kid. Like he knows anything about maintaining ANY vehilcle. Ohh BTW......you can import a 1995 skyline R32 for 10 000$. Ohh and in canada, you can get a twin turbo RX-7 for 10 000$. The eclipse he is going to buy is going to be the same price. Ohh and do your math, 2006 -1993 is not 23. And he would not have to mod it at all to begin. This thing comes out of the box with 300+ hp, six speed, and electronicly controled suspention.

nah man FDs are very reliable......the 13B-REW sloved most of the problems. Skylines are very street legal, except for the R34 ( the latest one). R33, R32, BNR31.....and the 4 doors. The r32 to r34 have the same engine. http://www.japaneseimports.ca/stock/ Now take in mind those are CANADIAN dollars. It is even less for Americans. And those cars are even more legal in the states because of the emmission laws, and less strict Crash test laws.

if you are speaking of motorex, then thats the legal price. they will install parts on it for you tho. for a price. they have THE best mecanics in the u.s. for j-spec cars there.

everyone is failing to remeber that this kid is 16, and isnt expeienced. i garente you give him a skyline, or some other high preformance car, shits getting crashed. no offense, but you just started driving. it happens. if i were you, and your serious about wantin to get into driving as a hobby/sport, get a small, cheap rwd or awd car, with low to medium power, and a manual. drive that for a year or two, learn to control oversteer and all that, and then around and go buy something nice.
