REACTORS discontinued????

its a possibility. from what i have heard they have not been the greatest bindings, very heavy too.

and more, much more than this, I did it my way
fd

the concept is awsome but the product was not reliable....good customer service from what I understand, everyone who busted them always got a replacement...but they broke alot

If this happened, every other binding manufacturer would be cracking out the champagne and dancing with joy, because a concept that might represent the future of ski bindings would have died. Pray it never happens.

When the truth is, I miss you.

Yeah the truth is, that I miss you so.

And I'm tired...

I should not have let you go.

yea such a sick concept if they could just get some lighter material into the design and work out the kinks

'You've got to run like an antelope, out of control'

^all skis should go to inserts...so much easier to travel...no more mid night drill session with jimmy rigged jigs that dont quite fit the skis...

^Isn't that the point? They released the binding WAY too early for it to have been successful. With such a radical concept, there are twice as many things that can go wrong, so you need twice the amount of testing, right?

I just think they rushed it...

I couldn't agree with JD more...but Line has a lot of work to do with this concept and the execution of the product

Smuggs kicks ass

Fat skis, Tight trees

doubtful. as jd said, one day it will be the greatest binding, it's just going to take time.

Just some people I know in the industry, who I normally would trust, but this seems so off the wall.

No naming names, I don't want get into a pissing match, just wondered if anyone has some facts. Anybody from Line on NS?

i dont think ur peopleare in the indusrty because i have seen of the 06 bindings in action. They felt like they were a little lighter.

What does a sperm cell and a black person have in common.

Only 1 in a million work.

The reactor will be back next year with some serious improvements. They will have new materials for better durability and a lot of slight tweaks in construction for more reliable release.

Just because they have 06 samples out doesn't mean they couldn't cancel the program at any time.

Just looking for facts

the Reactor is back. They are already bein tested on mountains near you. The release works great. And line is working out the kink with the brakes

skiing is dope

im pretty sure they will be coming out,

the binding is much stronger for next year,

and will be a legitimate choice.

Also, many other binding companies are

now developing bindings with a similar type of release.

I skied the reactors all this season urban and park and they treated me very well. hmmm...

i hope this doesnt happen b/c the older i get, the more appealing these bindings become

o really, tat would b amazing if LINE came out with a Look design, where'd u get that info from?

East Coast.

I was just copying what the guy above me said, and saying that if they had look inserts it would be dope. Look design or just a polished reactor - the 06 binding will be good fo'sh.

well if ya dont like em ya dont like em,

but they wont break like they used to,

personally i like look pivot style binding,

but the lines are safer

Speedlock_TT_g.jpg

racers have had this idea for a while it looks like, vist (4frnts binding maker) makes a SpeedLock TT plate (one example) that you can mount forward or backwards depending on conditions.

speedlock_5.jpg

the pins used to hold them in the the plate.

i wonder if 4frnt will start intergrating these holes into thier skis for "quick mount" abilities with their bindings. but who know if that many holes would work on a ski with out weaking the ski. and how would you mount other bindings with that many holes interfearing.

.:l[Tyler]l:.

^you need the plate for that to work, and you must be running a matching VIST speedlock binding. You wouldn't be able to run any other binding.

thats its only problem but wait the reacors set on a plate the plate is 18mm high and the reactors set atleats 20mm to 25mm off the ski (just a rough mesurment i did on mine) so all together i doubt its much higher then the reactor and deff lower then the reactor with the fredom plate. but yeah i would rather have the LIne 4 bolt system with like 3 choices of mounting poisitions.

.:l[Tyler]l:.

they arent. my boss at work ordered some like last month to sell at the shop i work at for next seasons. your reliable sources suck.

Here's the final word on this, so there will be no more speculation.

The Reactor is NOT discontinued or cancelled for next year. Reactors will be delivered to your shops in the fall.

We are cancelling the Camo Team version because there were not enough orders from shops. If you're pissed or upset at this, don't tell me, tell your shop who was too afraid to buy a camo binding.

Lastly, UTMeathead, it is a fact that inserts are 4x stronger in tensile pull strength than wood screws. In all the years we've been selling skis with inserts I have NEVER seen one pulled out of a ski. Additionally, because a shop tech doesn't drill the holes and then screw the bindings in with a screw gun the chance that your bindings we're misdrilled/mismounted at the shop is eliminated. Lastly, by having inserts you are able to own one set of bindings and multiple sets of skis. I have on several occassions changed skis mid-day in under two minutes with a simple philips head screw driver. This also makes travelling with multiple skis a lighter, easier endeavor. I'm not sure what you don't get.

And now the question is, is a line employee more reliable than a reliable source. The world may never know. I vote for jordan.

I would have to agree with Mr. Judd.

The ONLY stipulation that I have with the Line binding system is the mounting limitations. Only one location is available for mounting with Line's Reactor/Ski setup, this seems to leave mounting options (forward, back, mid) a little bit less forgiving.

I'll have to admit though...making the system as versatile as taking them off with a phillips screw driver and changing skis mid day (spending time out back then in the park after lunch) is a beautiful thing. Not to mention, the system saves buyers butloads of money.

It's only after you've lost everything that we are free to do anything.

^i believe i saw some picture of prototypes a few months back with 2 insert settings. i dunno though.

Take me to your special place

i think its great and may buy them...

"Holy shit, did you see that tweaked out pencil! That was insane, that guy really knows how to rip."

yeah several (maybe even all) '06 lines have 6 holes to move the mounting around a little bit.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.

yeah they had a pic of prototypes on there front page with an 8 hole grid (2 mounting postions) but i dont think thats going to fly on the new skis.

i think its a great idea though. if the binding can be switched that fast why not make a center mount pattern for park and then 1 or 2 farther back options for BC or just crusing

i heard that was just for the big mountain skis, like the motherships or the prophets, just so you can get waaay back on the ski. i do think it would be a very good idea to have the six hole inserts, just further up, so you could center mount if you wanted to. that would rule

my main complaint about the binding is that they make your foot so high off the ski.

i think hiatus got cleaned out. the release mechinism on the reactor is amazing, it just selfdestructs, and your knees stay perfectly healthy.

lucky you got stuck on NS though, it's like, porn, only betterer.-Bangor

i would rather have a Line binding that doesn't have the 4 screw interchangable shit, cause it makes the shit heavy as shit, and it is a bitch to use with non line skis
