Re-think the ski boot

why do yo ucare about walking in your ski boots,

unless you are hiking BC it shouldnt really matter, there for skiing

Dont be a pussy. By the end of the season I walk in boots ilke they are regular shoes. I also do all my back country hiking in them too. biulds good leg strength.

theres this attachment you can put on the bottom of your boot that simulates normal walking. It's like a rounded platform. I forgot the website... they also have like these cool roller things to carry your skis.

^those this are so gay. A guy I worked with got a free pair last year. they fold up and go in a pouch. It is so gay I cant get over it. Adds a nice two more inces to your height though.

yeah i never though of that, but they get easy to walk in within a couple of weeks atleats for me

Be a liftie at alta. They ski a half hour and work a half hour and repeat all day. You learn to do everything in them and after a few days they feel like shoes. If you grind them out and get the right boot, you won't have a problem. Oh, and get an A-line footbed.

nordicas making rear entries????????????

whaaaaat?????

and ski boots get pretty easy to walk in with practice - my best tip is to have the 2 lower buckles done up and the 2 upper ones on the loosest clip, with the power strap done up.

why do ski boots have to be hardcore plastic why cant we have normal boots.. like snowboard boots

Yea. They are making these hybird 4-buckle rear entry boots that are geared to recreational intermediate skiers. Its basically so people don't embarras themselves while they try and put their boots on.

And just walk in them. A ton of people take their boots off where I teach, during breaks and when they are working around inside between lessons. Theres really no point, just as long as you make sure there is no ice on the bottom, otherwise it hurts like hell when you fall. Take my word for that.

ski boots are just a huge lump of plastic... you can't expect it to feel like your taking a barefoot walk on the beach? my advice to you is man up and don't be a bitch. you forget about the feeling once your skiing anyways

Stop being a pussy. Anyone who whines about walking in boots, carrying their gear or anything at all about skiing besides long lift lines should die in a horrible, gruesome, slow death skiblade accident.

i just cleaned off all the mud mine picked up from walking in the mud to get from run to run at the end of the aussie season! haha quite sad really

There's no torque on you ankles when you're snowboarding because your feet are stationary. The only way they bend when boarding is forwards and backwards, a natural motion. With skiing, your feet are independent, and having a 6 foot piece of wood attached to your foot puts tons of torque on your ankles because they are a realtively week joint. You are also bending your ankles side to side when you go on edge. So the hard plastic takes the pressure fron your weak, non-sideways bending ankles by imobilizing them and transfers it to your stonger, more mobile knees and hips.
