Re: the article The truth about this hell shitty industy and how w

i dont even think as consumers this is the biggest point we should be worrying about. how about the fact that salomon is owned by the mega corperation and evil buisness people at adidas, or that k2 moved production to china. how about the sweatshop labour we are supporting by buying some of the larger corperations. im my opinion i only buy stuff made in canada/states and europe

yeah and let people in asia starve to death because they wont have a job after a while.

The Oakley statements aren't entirely true in that he started out just like any of these small ski companies nowadays. The founder of Oakley(can't rememebr his name right now) started off makign dirt bike grips, it was a sport he participated in and loved much like the owners of Armada, 4frnt, sublux, etc.. The company got bigger witthin the whole motocross scene and he started broadening his market into things like goggles. As the company got bigger naturally it started expanding into other markets. Yes Oakley is one of those huge corporations now, but to say that it doesn't care about it's athletes is far from the truth. The majority of everything Oakley puts out is rider influenced, it just may not seem that way since Oakley has such a huge market now.

Buy brands that support skiing. Help us, help you. We here at Scott USA support skiing from the ground up. So do the boys down the street..Smith. Both of our companies have various levels of ski sponsorships. Feel free to send in your resumes for consideration for next season (05-06)Try sending your resume into a 'snowboard' brand and see how far you get. Just keep it in mind the next time your buying products...

A lot of snowboard companies seem to try to be getting into the whole freeride scene. Anon, for example, has a pretty stacked team of guys now and they are a subsidary of Burton. I mean hell, if the big ski companies don't want to offer that much support then why not let some of these snowboard oriented companies get involved. They unarguagbly have done good things for their sport already.
