Re-applying DWR to Jacket?

Anyone know the best way to do this and which brand to use? I have a 100% nylon Armada Jacket with a small amount of synthetic insulation, not sure if that determines what kind of product to use. Water now seeps into the jacket in the areas that worn out.
 
Nikwax Tech Wash - the best, then follow up with Nikwax Spray On on the elbows, shoulders, and lower back.

Any drying? Like do you need any sort of heat after you apply the spray on DWR?
 
Pretty sure Arc'Teryx has a video on youtube talking about it.

Found it, it goes over washing goretex pieces but towards the end talks about reapplying DWR.
 
Depends on the jacket, but most companies actually recommend drying it on low heat, which helps lock in the DWR. Take a look at the care label of the jacket before you toss it in the washer/dryer though. I always make an effort to wash and dry anything treated with a DWR a couple times a year.
 
So for a 100% Nylon jacket with a polyester/nylon lining with synthetic insulation I would first wash with Nikwax and/or a light detergent. Take it out, wring out excess water, hang it up while damp and spray the DWR all over the jacket. Leave it on and let dry? or heat it with an Iron or hairdryer on low??

I don't know about DWR but as far as Nikwax goes it works the best when it whatever you are applying it to is 100% clean. I do one cycle with a light detergent, one cycle with just water, then one cycle with nikwax. I can't remember what setting I used to dry it but the back of the bottle should say so.

After I put my snow pants in the sink and no amount of water would penetrate. I could have taken a shower in those bad boys and not gotten wet. It does have a pretty short life though.
