RC Aerial Camera

now im gonna buy a cheap RC helicopter and make a project for myself! but that's real sick

I just saw this somewhere else. So sick. Is it not the Copter Kids guys? If not, I didn't know there was another group doing it as well. Either way, its dope.

There's no other way to get those shots other than hiring an actual helicopter to film out of, I think it's pretty awesome.

anyone know of a website or had any experience with doing this on your own? as in buying a decent remote controlled heli and mounting a camera? I want to do something like this, obviously it wont be as good unless you spend over a few grand, but I was thinking somewhere under $1000 if possibly it'd be a good investment, until I break the damn thing like rob and big

You could ad a GoPro to a quad copter for a few hundred bucks, but it isn't going to be anything close to what the real guys have.

RC heli's are a lot harder to fly that you think. If you were wanting to just go out a buy a heli and strap a 7d to it, i would never do it until you had at least 75-100 hours of just solid flight time.
I've flown them off and on for a few years and they still are retardedly hard to fly.

Some of those are really sick, but considering how much you pay to get shots that often can't stay level, I don't see it being financially feasible. Also, while the wide angle works for some shots, a lot of those looked really bad. Heli shots look much better at long focal lengths in my opinion, and doing so requires a Cineflex.

Yea, I know that, that's what I'm saying. I think that RC helicopter filming will only increase in popularity, because the only other way to get motion shots like that is to hire a full size heli, which is expensive.

the GoPro guys at the Teva games in vail had some sick RC helis, something like 6, i think blades.

they looked sick, and were super stable
