Rays!

YES

how many rays fans were there last year?

how many rays fans were there midseason this year?

their average attendance was like 15,000.

all you fucking rays bandwagoners can go die. seriously, i bet you couldnt name the rays lineup before this season.

Wait, wait, wait...are Red Sox fans seriously complaining about bandwagoners? Seriously? SERIOUSLY? The biggest bandwagon in ALL OF SPORTS? You guys have to be kidding.

are you shitting me? are you absolutely shitting me? are you fucking retarded? you cant be serious. weve sold out the most times in a row out of any mlb team ever, (like 460 or something). how many true ray fans were there before september?

THE RAYS AVERAGE ATTENDANCE OVER THE REGULAR SEASON WAS FUCKING 22,000.

fuck the sox. im from boston and i know how obnoxious boston fans can be. go tampa all the way! even though im a yanks fan, im just rooting for tampa!

haha word...

all the people i see wearing yankee hats i wouldnt really call them baseball players or fans... its the white flat brim Yankee hat, gansta balla!

wear your fucking hat the right way IMO hahah

Maybe because you have like the smallest park in the major leagues - what's Fenway's capacity, like 36K? And also your team hasn't finished last in the division every year of their existence until now. Face it man, it doesn't matter where the team is, they draw better when they win. So obviously the Rays are going to get more people interested, excited, and coming to their games by actually being successful for the first time ever.

And don't try to tell me the Red Sox don't have a bandwagon - EVERYONE is a Red Sox fan, it's ridiculous.

and im not being racist at all, but a black dude will always rock a yankee hat, never redsox

i woudl jump on the bandwagon too if i lived in florida... thats what everyone did when the sox finally got into the world series too. stop frontin

its like 39k. and if we had a bigger stadium, we would still sellout. its pretty damn hard to find sox tickets.

you dont have to tell me the reason why people bandwagon, i know perfectly well. but the fact of the matter is that they are huge bandwagoners. their avg attendance this year was 22k. last year it was 17k. now all of a sudden, all these rays fans show up with rays jerseys, all bought this year, because last year the jerseys were different and they were the devil rays. bandwagoners suck, plain and simple. they should be ashamed to be a fan when they win the first series of the postseason. in their 78th home game (81 home games in a season), they drew 17k fans. are you shitting me? right in a race with the sox for the division title, 17,000 fans show up. fuck rays fans

and yes there are a lot of sox fans, thats why they call it red sox nation, but the core NEW ENGLAND fans have been fans for a long long time. i know people who watched in misery up until a few years ago.

1. im a diehard sox fan

2. hes the won thats trying to correct me, looking like a dumbass. of course im gonna shove it in his face.

and thank you joe maddon. the first thing he said when he got to the podium was congrats to us, he said were a remarkable ball club and personally congratulated tito.

i like him, hes a very respectable man

fuck the fucking rays. FUCK. hahaha theres one kid on our floor thats a rays fan. we were all screaming fuck you when they won

you care way too much about baseball, no one is a dumb ass for stating a recently out of date fact (fenway is a bit smaller than jacob's field btw and a much larger fan base in New England, so it was harder to do in Cleavland IMO), don't be a jackass and use you're head before you start going after someone far mentally superior than your feeble mind can comprehend. if you feel like arguing this, be my guest, though you're probably too busy making excuses why your team just lost.

i'm a sox fan and i'm from boston etc, but i gotta hand it to them, the rays have done incredibly well. I have to respect that because they went from one of the worst teams to the best.

But yea, the thing about their fans is kind of annoying, and i bet come next season, it'll go back to normal

isnt the capacity of fenway only like 35,000? easy to sell that out. shit the phills average attendance was 43,000+ plus this year but that aint sell out. 44,300 is a sell out in philly. but i guess cause we sell more tickets but dont sell out it doesnt matter. the sox lost get over it, go buy some more talent in fre agency pay japan another 50 mil jus tto talk to a guy.

Go phillies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EXACTLY!
The only reason the red sox started selling out every game is because they finally became mediocre. Plus they have the SMALLEST stadium in baseball. If the yankees stadium was only half it's size they would sell out every game too

wrong. they sell out for the same reason the cubs sell out, even though they havent won the series in 100 years. its cuz they are a classic team in a classic stadium

sorry if im getting you mixed up with someone else. but Boston did beat the Rockies last year... who i believe you were ruiting for. a little animosity maybe??

if you act like you know a fact and correct my correct fact with your incorrect fact, then yes, you are dumb. verify your facts before you speak.

hahah far mentally superior, based on what? based on my love for the sox? that makes you mentally superior?

im not making any excuses for why my team lost. the rays beat us fair and square. sure manny was out and we had lots of injuries like lowell etc., but im not making excuses. have i made a single excuse on NS yet for why the sox lost? the rays were the better team period. in the regular season too, they beat us fair and square. every team gets injuries, so im not using that as an excuse. manny was being a horrible teammate, thats no excuse either. so before you start accusing me of making excuses, think about what you say

they are a classic BANDWAGON team. If everyone rooted for them all the time why haven't they sold out every game since the stadium was built?
By the way- the yankees had the highest average attendance this year out of all of the major leagues-http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/attendance
in fact, they totaled over 1 million more fans than the red sox did.

thats cause their stadium is bigger and there are more than 10 million people in NY. but still, teams like bos, ny, and the cubs have fans always there. im just saying that the rays fans are all just liking the rays cause theyre in the ws.

and yes aspen, i know we are cocky and defensive fans. thats just the nature of boston. im sorry, but thats just how it is. ive been taught that way. i respect most teams and players, exceptions being people like aj pierzynski cause hes a douche and cheats. but i have tremendous respect for the rays team. i guess im just still disappointed that the sox lost

ill chill out though

hey, we will get them next year. we had injuries at the wrong time of the year, and our pitching didn't preform. just chill out about it andy

i do agree that the rays fans are pretty bandwagon but, who wants to go watch their team lose? It would be different if they were more than 10 years old.
and yes, I too have tremendous respect for the rays team

No, they don't, I was at the record-breaking game at fenway, and I've got the commemorative ticket to prove it. /fail.

Well I could really care less about the Rays. I'm not a die hard baseball fan at all, but when my local teams are involved then I'll definitely support them. BTW More cowbell.

For some reason I just imagined gigantic extra-terrestrial manta rays terrorizing Boston and shooting lazers out of their eyes.

the fact that you responded to a post i made just to be confrontational and stir up emotions just furthers this. i can tell you some stats based on test scores or what i do if you want to go off intelligence, but im not in the mood to argue that. if you want to know i haven't been to or watched a full baseball game since the 04 season, you should know more about the sport than i. i am a fan of seattle sports, and yes, i am well aware that professionally the city has just had one of the worst years across the board of any city of the country in sports.

as someone who no longer follows baseball and had been without TV since june till the beginning of this month, you can forgive my misinformation of a stat that happened while i was cut off from the major sports world.
