Ratio of Girls to Guy Newschoolers

Next time your on Newschoolers.com, just look over the left. How many pink names do you see, yeah, like maybe 1/20 of the names? does anyone know why there is such a miniscule number of chick jibbers. For all of you chicks that are newschoolers, mad props to you, for joining in a sport that is dominated by guys.

 
Im sorry for posting this guys. I know there are posts about this like bi-monthly. but I dont think the guy jibbers out there are showing the respect they should for the chick jibbers out there.

 
I live out in PA, and im not seeing to many girl jibbers out there. Is it different everywhere else in the world?

 
Not many in the Northwest, maybe about 1 in 200 of the runs in the park are by girls. But huge props to the ones that at least try

I would make the statement that more guys do winter sports than girls, but I know it's not true. The ratio of boarders, male/female is nearly even on the mountain most of the time, although I think almost always the guys have a bit of a lead. So why not skiers, too? Well, I think that since newschooling still isn't as 'mainstream' as snowboarding, all the girly-girls, punk girls and prep girls are still trying to be cool by snowboarding; only the REALLY hardcore chicks are the ones jibbing on skis. So we don't have many girls in our sport, comparatively... but be proud, because they're the best.

Kami, what u said was right, let's say there are 50% of people snowboard, but 90% of chicks who snowboard are posers. Of that 10% are the girls that aren't. Then about half of those are actually good. So that leaves us with 2.5 percent of snowboard chicks would take a ride through the park and be decent.

I would say that the same ratio would apply to newschool ski girls... Only newschool skiing represents 2.5% of the 50% of snow riders that are skiers. So that percentage would be 0.05% of girls on the hill are newschool skier chicks.

i agree though, the only girls out there ripping are the ones who do it for the love of it. pretty soon the hills will be crowded by chix on twins fixin there facking makeup on the lift up....you wait.

ALL THE GIRLS ON NS DOESN´T HAVE PINK NAMES.. THEY GET TO CHOSE WHEN THEY REGISTER.. AND FOR THE SECOND I´LL THINK WE SHOW RESPECT TO THE GIRLS WHO JIBS..

 
if %.05 of all girls on the hill are newschool skiers then probably an even smaller percent have been to this website.

There is nothing motherly about mother nature. Except for her big mountainous breasts.
 
i definately think snowboarding plays a major role in the guy:girl ration in skiing. most girls take up snowboarding because it's easier to learn, all their friends are doing it, it's 'cool', and skiing is for old people. also, the confidence factor comes into play. it's intimidating for most girls to even hit a jump, much less in front of a crowd of mostly boys. the 'what ifs' pop up and most girls worry about looking cool in front of the guys. i know this happens to me occassionally. you just have to say 'fuck it' and hit the jump because you love the sport. it's better to have just a few girls who love to ski rather than a slew of posers.

The ratio of snowboarders to Skiers, depends greatly on the mountain. Like Ajax! it just opended for snowboarders, Ive skied there all day and saw 1 boarder.

Don't worry people the chix will come...when snowboarding first came out there wasn't a shit load of girls jumping and stuff it took a couple years for the girls to come around...remember new school skiing is a brand new sport girls will come around sooner or later.

 
lizziebeth said it well. many of the girls I see in the park are there because their bf is into it. they just tag along. most girls are more self conscious than guys. therefore won't hit a jump that may make them look bad. I guess I know guys that are the same way, but there is less of them. 4:85 is the current ratio online. going by pink that is.

Pink on this site isnt worth anything. Not sure if the 8% that Harvey was talking about were all the pink members or all the girls in total, but either way, that doenst reflect the skier chick status. Half of the girls that are on this site aren't even skiers.

yeah, alot of girls who ride are snowboarders, but the few that ski and go out there to ride hard with the guys are the ones who are pushing the movement and that's what us girls need....even if their names aren't in pink :)

Skiier girls rule! but you're right, here in the state of PA, there are very few of them. On the mountains, you see, what? Maybe 30 or so? if that! I think a lot of girls are afraid to ski...it's 'guy's' sport. i think it's time for us girls to show the guys what it's all about.

I was skiing with these girls and one of them looked at the biggest jump and was like I'm gonna hit that. She didnt but she was getting more air than most kids.

really? in japan? maybe its just my local hill, but i would have to say the majority of the people on the mountain are snowboarders. we skiers are greatly outnumbered - and most of the skiers are either racers or bump skiers. I've been there every weekend since it opened about 4 weeks ago and I'm afraid there are barely any newschool skiers, let alone newschool chicks. by way, I ski at Geto (don't make fun of the name!!!)

well i had a bunch of girls email me their stories on how they've been treated as skiers. so i know there are alot of girls here who DO rip and arent posers. and yeah not all of them have pink names
