i'll take the 69 out of every 100 000 women...that is 0.00069% of american women who were raped in 2000. now the stat was for a women during her lifetime...i'll say 80 years. so 69 X 80/100 000= 0.0552% of american women who will be raped in 80 years (a lifetime).

so if i did my math right, at best 0.06 percent, or 1 in every 1667 women, will be raped in their lifetime, at the rate of that in the year 2000. not 1 in every 4.

again, i dont know if i did the math right, and its getting late and im getting tired, but you get the idea.

ya, like i said, the 1 in 4 is either exagerated or includes things like attempted rape, wich could include a hell of a lot of things. but still, 1 in every 1667 women raped isn't exactly a low number either.

there was a rape/suicide scandal at UAlbany on Sunday/Monday. Soo sad I know the guys who did it and it makes me sick that they used to walk the halls of the same school I go to. Easily one of the worst crimes there is. I'm sorry to hear about your friend

So basically women should never leave the house? THey should never had male friends, or boyfriends, they should never go on dates? Women get raped in stores, they get raped by friends they trusted, they get raped at work. It was not that girls fault for what happend. Maybe she was just walking out to her car? IT doesnt matter what the circumstance was, it wasnt her fault. Yes women need to be careful, but women shouldnt have to spend their entire lives in fear either. 221 is probably a rapist, to say that she wanted it makes me sick, i hope you die.

One thing i think that has been missed is that a very common case of rape is husband to wife.

Its very rarely reported and very hard to convict but its all to common.

And comments about 221 wont help the situation, it probably wasnt meant that way.
