What more can you do then rope off the entrance making a pathway to enter the park and putting up huge warning signs to get all of the gappers out of the park?

I took a trip today to a hill 2 hours away, usually happens once or twice a season, to get away from my 64m verticle home base. I was so stoked on ridding a better park, and actually getting some "big mountain" ridding in, actually getting my ski on edge.

Anyways, once we get into the park, (enterance is a fence on the left and right side of a big roller, with a huge typical warning freestyle skills req. etc sign that took up a good half of it) we cruise through the first half, traffic free. Once we make it to the second section, its flooded with rentals. I don't get it. Can people not read? Fuck. Or is it just way to damn cool to go off the side of a kicker into a feature, land and eject from the thrilling 1 foot drop they just hit, yard saleing. Then again, there were a group of about 10 snowboarders sessioning a feature half way down. There is no problem with it if its done right. Of course me and my friends are at the top, waiting for a clearing. Once one opens up, i go. Hit the first feature, prime. Then i see the group of boarders. As im carrying my speed into the second feature, a train of 4 boarders just jump in and totally cut me off. Not 1 looked up the hill to see what was comming. I stop, say "THANKS!" one guy looks back and laughs.

I just dont get it, and there isnt much you can do. Parks are created to bring in revenue, because they know its an attraction. Financially, why would a resort limit rules etc, to prevent stuff like this from happening, when common sense says it will result in lost business?

Im stuck, because regardless (As what ive come up with) they turn everything into finance, as understandable, they are running a business, and there is no way to approach new ideas, (once again, of what i can come up with, thats why im asking you guys).

Im just pissed right now.

yeah ive found quite a few people at louis to be assholes. but whatever. if you want to see clueless gappers go to horshoe.

As shitty as having to buy a park pass is, Blue Mountain is usually pretty gaper free. Same here, there are no touristd in the XL park. I love it.

the hill in calgary has tried to get a park pass system set up to keep those people out. Its not perfect, but it seems to be doing alright. We still have some idiots in the park, people sitting on landings, stuff like that, but no rentals and no ski schools. A big improvement to last year. All you need to do is listen to a guy tell you some stuff about park safety and manners and sign a form, go to customer services where they put you in the computer and print a card that looks like the seasons pass. I guess for a lot of gapers this is just too much effort to be extreme.

I hate the people who come into the park and start carving around the jumps and shit. Like fuck, there's 50 other groomed runs you could ski.

i can almost guarentee one day u just didnt wake up and u were good at freeskiing.,...so give them a break at least they r trying right?
