Rant About Whatever

Why do the hard projects at work alway hit my schedule in the winter. Behind right not and just want to go skiing and not think about shit. Project has a $500/day late penalty so that sucks too.

its been almost a week, leg still hurts, but only when i put on my ski boots, its so bad I cant ski. idk what the problem is either, i think that i bruised my leg, but there is a bruise on the back, and when i put on boots the front and back of my leg hurt. this pain occurred after a backseat landing, went away in my left foot after a minute, and didn't in my right. Of course this happens, as all the runs open at my local too.

did your leg swell at any point?

If you managed to bruise the bone itself, those can take upwards of a month to heal in my experiences. If you have health insurance it might be worth the time to get an x ray to rule out any small fractures.

my leg didn't really swell up, and I just am seeing a bruise form 5 days after the incident, kinda stinks cause i think its a bone bruise, and if i take a month to heal up, then my season's pretty much done, and i haven't even skied a park with a jump yet this year

Bought the new TW boots and the k2 print on the left tongue is crooked. They’re basically unskiable.

@tomPietrowski refund?

On the last pair of FT FC's I bought the little leather bit on the inside was put about an inch off where it was supposed to be and would let snow in constantly. It ended up ripping after about 100 days so I had to trim it and finesse it back under the bolt. Really after looking close the whole boot its filled with flaws and imperfections that really bother the shit out of me. Im glad Ive never paid close to full price because over $300 is crazy for the quality they produced.

I doubt k2 changed anything other than the colors and logos.

Honestly as someone with a narrow ass heel and fat toes the soul shell is the only boot I've found that fits me out of the box and I haven't had any durability issues with them (unlike my last pair of recons which cracked in half after 100 days). Mostly joking about the print error

Local park and rec dude told us we couldn't ski here literally right after we built a jump (said we were being a bad example?) And then once we left they destroyed it. Like we have done this at the same park for 5 years and one time a couple years ago I left a rail and they threw it in a dumpster

Second pic is after they took the hay bales and jump down

Drove my sister to her race training tn, said hi to some parents ik on the race team who’s kids i coached. Went off and skied. Well turns out my sister grabbed my keys outta my bag to grab her GS skis instead of SL skis and

just so happened to put them in the exact same bag that was next to mine(both same bag same color) well i ski down to drive her home and we find this out so the race team director had to send out a team snap asking people to check their bags for our skis. Thankfully the owner of said bag saw the notification and drove back to give us our keys but holy clusterfuck of a night. Just Getting home and have to leave to get to work at 6:45 tmr and I still haven’t eaten dinner.

I bought a pair of Seth Mos one year the snow camo ones to be specific and one of the liners was a full size smaller. Wild shit. FT hooked it up though.

That is some crazy shit. Snow camo was the best Seth Morrison model, I had the clear red ones with the sneaker tongues

I wish I still had those shells. My first chairs just look boring compared to them.

Homies were just trying to vibe with each other in the work Group Chat and now its locked and unable to access because its for "leads and managers only" now

That's an uh oh moment

So fucking aggravating to send a file to a team 6 months in advance, they comment on it, and you make all the requested changes. Then when it goes live, they still have issues and say they didn't agree to something. Bruh it's literally right here in the document you fucking have wtf

why are people wearing full arc'teryx at my small east coast mountain?

These mfs be standing at the top of a groomed trail on a 900ft hill like they are about to drop into corbett's. I'm surprised they don't start pole whacking. They then proceed to go very fast with very mediocre form. I'd rather ski with the guy in rental skis and a unicorn onesie than these elitist mfs who take themselves way too seriously.

Dawg I see that at all the 500ft hills I go to

I've reached a new level of dirtbag debauchery because pocket beers go as an unspoken rule at the Laundromat

I'm pretty sure hanging out and sipping a few beers is acceptable at pretty much all landromats. Would be next level for somebody to say anything to you while you're waiting for your clothes to dry.

weather this year is fucking ridiculous. no temperature stability at all, it shouldn’t be almost 50 degrees in january. it’ll snow then 2 days later it cracks above freezing for a few days, we lose the snow, repeat.

Disagree.

Backcountry skiing in the dark is sketchy. Inbounds tours are a great way to get out and exercise for a bit

the snowpack is so incredibly unstable right now. i get why people are uphilling at resorts.

its so sketch when you turn a corner and boom there’s an uphiller during resort hours. im surprised its not more of an issue of them gettin smoked.

Currently having the most frustrating ski day, just because of googles. Made the mistake of leaving them on the truck since the last outing. So much moisture they are fogging between the layers of the lens and I can’t see shit. Took one run and had zero visual interpretation of the snow which is not good when there’s a few new inches of wet heavy snow. So now I sit in the lodge and hope getting them inside for a bit helps.

This is 90% of my complaint. I dont want to smoke them but I just feel like Im gonna be smokin on that A/T pack one day if I ski more "all mountain".

10% is that most of them never wave back to me and glare at me as I go by. I even stay as far away from them as possible and sometimes spoil my line a bit because of it.

I should have clarified though incase its not obvious I specifically mean people who A/T durring lift hours. Im defenitly not bothered by people doing it outside of lift hours.

Big federally mandated testing week for my students. Brought in fruit and some granola bars so they'd have something to eat while testing; every kid whined that the snacks on offer sucked/were gross and why didn't I bring in takis. Told them I wouldn't be bringing in anything next time because I don't go out of my way to help entitled people.

Trying to feed kids on the worst. I’m leading a two day Nordic ski weekend for work next weekend and I’m just going to feed em Mac n cheese and pancakes. There will be fruit and a salad and all that but I adjusted the packing list knowing they won’t eat much of it. The worst is planning for the six to eight day river trips where getting them decent really matters and we’re limited in what we can do in the backcountry.

i like how my co-worker today told me that Im not worth shit until my checklist is complete and to "Go outside" and then I witness an 8-year old smoke a tree today and was first-on scene. Go fuck yourself dude.

i love what we do, but sometimes shit just hits the fan and you need an extra day-off. this crew has been running hard for the past 9 weeks.

Faith leaders (pastors etc) really need to stop using satire as a way to address spiritual issues. Satires requires making the opposite a bit of a straw man and is inherently belittling. So when pastors or other spiritual leaders use it, they just push the people they should be showing empathy and care for further away.

Yeah they skin in the safest part of the trail for expert/fast skiers who want to avoid unpredictable beginners.

Its like a cyclist biking in the road against traffic.

Skinning while the lifts are spinning isn't cool. Save that shit for the spring and do one of a million other things for exercise. I feel like patrol should have a bunch of snow shoes and tell these assholes to strap their skis to their pack and walk up through the woods. But the people who skin in resort wouldn't want to do that they want the attention of showing people they are 'earning their turns.'

Smoked a whole bunch of jerky yesterday. Filled up a 1gal bag and set it on the stove before I went to bed. Fucking cat pulled it off the stove onto the ground, where the dog subsequently ate it all. Fuck.

After trying both BOA and non-BOA ski boot offerings for next ski season, I still don’t understand why people hate BOA. More companies are coming out with BOA options, and the ones that currently have BOA boots are expanding beyond the medium volume fit to offer more BOA and non-BOA options in their lineup, while still having practically the same shell overlap despite which closure you choose. The only person I couldn’t see using a BOA ski boot would be a patroller because the dial would always catch if they’re handling a sled.

Side note: I did ski the new K2 Recon with the intuition wrap BOA liner that’s been circulating all over social media lately, and the feel of that boot in terms of flex and fit has some fucking BALLS.
