Thank god Beaver Creek big park is pretty empty so nobody landed on me, I had to penguin slide off landing which took like 5 minutes. I always avoided Breck for that exact reason—it’s too crowded you just cant fall (at least it was years ago so I quit going)

Is your wife an MD? ER docs are the best sometimes theyve seen a heap of shit so maybe someone like that was able to talk her down, or maybe she's just in denial
 
I think what might have done it was our youngest woke up at 5:30 so that threw off my wife’s workout and she probably then had enough time you realize she could get both kids to school and me to hospital and still get to work only 15 minutes late if she tried so she had a change of heart/priorities I guess. She’s an OBGyn so she’s got no pity for men’s pain, it sucks im really broken but at least she knows it now that I wasn’t just being a bitch. Also nice I’m now on her insurance and her hospital is small mostly labor and delivery but they did have an ER so day went smoothe I’m back at home with crutches now

have always made it off on my own so when I say I can’t walk it’s frustrating if ppl don’t listen haha

Funny enough my good friend who I ski with is a ER surgeon, and he’s always overly cautious. Fell? Might be concussed. someone hit you? Likely concussed. Too many beers? Sure you’re not concussed? lol.

It felt good when I got home after my fishing job and got an X-ray on my finger to prove it was broken when everyone was just calling me a pussy the whole time, it was probably just sprained, etc. I still worked my ass off and did my job well for two months with my swollen hand, fuck em
 
That’s what my wife told me driving me to the hospital that the ER docs are all overly cautious and will think I’m an idiot. She didn’t like them back in the day since they were “fuckin pussies” and my wife would even egg me on to go bigger in the park to earn her love, now I’m just confused…

I no longer feel shame for working on golf courses and doing turfcare and driving big ass machines. Used to get roasted by friends and peers for doing that back home cuz it was bad for the environment or whatever when it's just like "Buddy, working for the people who are over developing mountain towns is sadly the only way to make a decent living in a mountain town plus a 2nd job.". There is no ethical way to consume imo
 
Coming from Great Lakes state, I’ve always despised golf courses in desert SW. Now I’m playing in Denver, practically same thing. So hate myself a bit. I don’t spend much money on golf or watch on TV but I like whackin balls and walking a ton, or running if my game is that bad

Honestly dude theres so many times ive been sitting in my office job wishing I had gone the greenskeeper route. I have a couple buddies from high school who worked their way up to upper levels and make pretty damn good money. Enough to buy a house etc. Plus they get to be on course all day every day, get free memberships and golf etc.

its a pretty damn sweet gig.

It's been the most solid job I've ever had. Superintendent salaries average $80k/year a lot of places according to the GCSAA, even moreso at some of the premier courses and clubs. My boss in Park City at Glenwild was pulling in easily $200k/year granted he's been doing this since he was 17. It really is one of the best jobs for ski bums, high school kids, college kids, or old dudes who need beer money.

And yeah it is kinda funny I make slightly more as a greenskeeper than a patroller with way more education and certs lol

Also being a mechanic for Bobcat seems like a chill job

Get promised by HR that I'll be getting my employee housing deposit back in full as long as I clean and turn in the keys.....well I Deep-cleaned my old apartment, changed over beds and tried to make it easier for housekeeping, turned my keys in to their property managers office, and I get dinged on my deposit because my old roommate forgot to turn his key in when he moved out back in December. What a fucking cunt that kid is. He complained to HR after only 2 weeks of living there because of things getting messy despite him being the culprit by not doing his own dishes and smoking weed in the living room constantly and freeloading all the cleaning shit and hygiene products and some food I bought.

It's $80 for key replacements but my deposit wouldlve covered my truck payment for the month so I'm a bit miffed about it. My urge to send a super passive aggressive and brutal email to HR is stewing considering the HR director did all our housing inspections this season and said it was a super clean spot and "you're good I don't need to worry". Dude was also super pissed off because J1's and others didn't even bother picking up a broom and left their spots in disgusting fashion. What a fucking bitch dude.

should have known better but i opened the r/skiing thread on the guy who died at berthoud pass yesterday. never been so fucking annoyed reading comments. scrolling through gaper hot takes on how the kid should’ve “used engineers to calculate the jump” (???) because they saw it in a jeremy jones video… so frustrating that sub just completely invents shit so they can sound knowledgeable about a tragedy that happened less than a day ago. get a fucking life

Our puppy decided to jump off the side of our stairs and broke his leg. I’ve raised 4 puppies now and have been lucky enough to never have this happen until now but fuuuuuuuck that sucks and of course it’s on my Pyrenees and not my smaller dogs.

my coach put another shitter in our 4- and it lowk got better. the two bad rowers like cancelled out and we were sorta fast and really set. plus our coach got some nice footage

I feel so horrible, my dogs have such a high quality of love and care and he’s hurt because i couldn’t stop him fast enough. Vet said we’ll check in again in a week, hopefully he’s in less pain soon! one of my other dogs tore her few claw off yesterday too so that’s also fun!! What a week we’re having.
 
bro i swear i am sick of mf curbsite pickup and like those "to-go" only parking spots like wtf. its 2024 now and it isnt quarantine and there isnt some massive demand for curbside pickup. like when is the last time someone used that shit. like just a waste of the best spots in the lot. like at least let the handicapped park there. cmon

The battle to get my security deposit back begins.

Of course no one else in my complex bothered to clean their units or turn their keys in, and even went as far as to squat in their residents past move out day without telling anyone. So therefore no one gets their deposits back I guess. The property manager is fucking livid this week about it. I don't blame her.

I get that employee housing may be seen as a hippie commune for ski bums to some, but that's fucking retarded that some people can't even bother to pick up a broom at the very least or take their trash out. The fuck is up with you kids nowadays?

Is your key to an apartment that people share or do you have your own space that only your key accesses? If so, don't let them fuck you over for someone else. Also this is EMPLOYEE housing so closely read those policies to see if they're following them. If anything your employer should be more generous and only go after the people neglecting the rules. This sounds like a money grab/scam. My last apartment complex tried to pull that shit on me and took their sweet ass time returning my deposit. Wasn't until I wrote them a certified letter pointing out they violated state law by delaying so long that they finally returned my money.
