skateboarding is fucking tight, it takes alot of skill to do and is very tech

i skateboarded for about 2 years on and off and loved it

but skateboarders? i know a select few who are acually cool

all this rollerbladers are gay bullshit

i have a good example

i was at my local skatepark with my friend who rollerblades and my other friend who is a sponserd skateboarder(not pro, flow) best in the park at the time

the ratio of rollerbladers to skateboarders was like 2 to 30

my friend and i were getting loads of shit

then my skateboarding friend asks to try on my skates and he skates around and everyone shuts up

really the only skateboarders who think rollerblading is gay, are the ones who do it too be cool, of just the ignorant ones who havent seen real rollerblading

yes they are on our feet but how does that make it soo easy and gay

skiis are attached? is that gay now?

all it does is make it easy to progress and higher limits

we 720 it

you do 180s to rails

we do 7s and 9s

so think rollerblading is gay

because it must be because you dont see 8 rollerblading games

you dont see wal-mart selling aggressive rollerblades

you dont see us on mtv

you hate us because we are where you were back when skateboarding was underground

 
the funny part is that once you all graduate from high school you won't think rollerblading or skateboarding are cool.

i really dont see the problem with rollerbladers, sometimes they look silly but so do skateboarders...
 
then you don't have much time. The skatepark will lose its appeal when you find that you are too old to hang out with 12 year olds.
 
do you ski in the park? cuz thats full of 12 year old kids. i roll with people my age durring the day time when all the lil kiddies are in school.
 
i've been in college for two years... skate and ski almost everyday.

seems like there are always a lot more people at the skatepark that are older than me than younger...
 
nope, too many kiddies in the park. I hear you about hitting it up while the kids are in school.

I suppose I should clarify. I'm not hating on the sports themselves, I enjoy skateboarding, skiing, and snowboarding. I just mean that it makes me laugh when kids get all uppity about "skateboarding is so cool and rollerblading is dumb." Skateboarding used to be a sort of underground thing but now it is highly commercialized and dominated by junior high/high school kids. So, kids may argue all they want about what is "cool," but to adults blading and skateboarding both have the image of kiddie activities.
 
werd dude i use to skateboard before the tony hawk days then quit when zummies became a "cool" store. now that i am older and have too much time on my hands i want to get back into it cuz i have been bootin and biking the past few summers.
 
I'm a rollerblader okay. I don't have a problem with skateboarders because most of my friends skateboard. They don't have a problem with rollerbladers, I don't see how you can hate on rollerbladers. Tht'd be like a white person hatin on a nigger just wouldn't be right...
 
Tell that to Danny Way (34) or Tony Hawk (38) or one of the countless other pro skaters in their 30s, living the dream.

Tony Alva still skates pools every day, and he's 49.

If you stop enjoying fun sports as soon as you graduate high school, then... wow. I don't even know where to begin with that. Have fun feeling old, I guess.

 
Those people skate 25% of their day, and then they spend the rest of the day using their names to sell gear to 12 year olds. I didn't say that no older people skateboard, I just said that adults see it is a kid' activity, and for the mostpart they are right.
 
Agressive inline is NOT gay. do you have any idea how hard it is? No! you dont! cause you've never tried it! inline skating is THE most amazing sport Ever in my opinion.

I cant believe you were actually offended when you saw a rollerblader wearing a 4frnt t-shirt. like what the heck is wrong with your head?! rollerbladin is awesome. your just too chicken to admit it.

dude skateparks are more full of people above like 19, im 17 and i always feel younger than everyone else, and on the mountain if your like 20 your one of the younger people in the park.

if you stop skating or skiing park cause your like 27 and you think your "too old" then you are a pussy and just looking for an excuse to suck.
 
what most of the people who rollerblade on here dont seem to get is that the whole 'hate on rollerblading' thing has been over for a long time. no one really cares anymore...as long as youre not messing stuff up in the park (which tends to be the root of this feuding), its just whatever. i personally think its really lame. im not playing down anything they do, i find it to be absolutely retarded some of the tricks that are done. but they just fail to impress me.

heres an example. i was at school last year and i saw some kid on rollerblades rolling up to this gnarly quad kink. i stopped to watch because i mean, it was like a 12 flat 12 flat 12, it should be absolutely ridiculous. but the kid did it, then 360d onto the double kink below it in a line, and it simply failed to impress me. to be honest, i was kinda bummed. i feel bad that rollerbladers can do this kind of thing and it just not be sweet.

but if you go to the skatepark, theres really no more rollerblader vs skateboarder animosity, unless of course rollerbladers wax the shit out of a flat box thats fast as is. thats when i get upset. but other than that, its not a big deal.

it seems like the majority of people who are hating on skateboarding these days are rollerbladers. most people are interested with it, regardless of the amount of participation they may have in the sport.

maybe you guys do 900s onto rails or 720s over sets, but theyre not that sick looking. i just dont see the style aspect of it at all. yet the similarly tech tricks on a skateboard can ooze style. watch dan zvereff in thanks camera do his hardflip front nose bigspin. thats an absolutely absurd trick, and he does it without a single limb going out of place. a 900 onto a rail just looks like a complete mess.

watch nate jones do just an ollie onto a curb, or pj ladd's 360 flips, reynold's kickflips. you can do shit on flat and have it look absolutely amazing. you just dont have that in rollerblading. i think thats where the real difference is.

so you can keep hating on skateboarding, but i hate to break it to you, youre kind of the only ones doing it anymore.

Well actually, the first thing you said was:

And that's what I was responding to.

It's been a long time since I graduated from high school, and I still think it's cool. Just because you hit a certain age doesn't mean you have to drop the skateboard and take up lawn bowling.

 
i guess it depends on what you call an adult, cause obviously some 50 year old is gonna think that cause no 50 year old guys skateboard or ski park, its all 10-30 year olds, who they would call "kiddies"
