Let me ask you this. How often to you hear about homeruns like that? How often to you hear about perfect games? Every so often. Sure they're tough to do, and a rare thing... but they do happen. Homeruns like that do not.
And yes, it did happen a while ago so I understand that it's kinda died, but it was never really big because he's not part of an American ball club, like the Yankees. If Jeter had done that like Carter did, he would have been nominated for the most outstanding human being of the 20th century.
