I'm trying to slide a rainbow to flat and when i ollie onto the rail i slide about a foot or two before i feel my edge catch into the rail and i ride off the side of it. It seems like im going about the same speed as the other boarders sliding it. possibly skiers also. any ideas what im doing wrong? i've detuned my edges. should i detune them more?

commit. if you keep your weight centered, and your edges up off the rail, theres no way that you could catch an edge.

yeah, just like you feel you edge grab, your angling your skis so the edge drags. i bet since its a rainbow, youre leanding too far forward. lean a little back, and commit. not tons, because youll kick out, but youre landing on an uphill curve. just commit, as that other kid said.

not if your dragging your edge. its probably a combination of both, since that would slow you down, and if youre going slow anyway, you just lose your balance and have to slide off.

try more speed.

increase in speed= less time on rail = less balance required.

get low, some gorilla steeeze, to lower teh center of mass. Also widen you base of support and have the COM perpendicualr to BOS at all times.

its a hard concept to grasp, but once you got it it works everytime

slide onto it, thats what im doig and i learned rainbows now...before you get to the flat sorta hop i guess, thats what id do, or just slide onto it, your call

It's called a SNAIL RAIL, not that I'm big on names but its such a cool name. They have one at VAIL that I wanna try but it looks pretty BIG
