hey everybody iam new to this site and infact just started

sking again this year(havent skied in 8 years) i was wondering about rails.when you are on the rail do you have to kind of keep the edge of the ski on your front foot up a bit.iam wondering because in some pictures i see it and some i dont.

any feed back will help thx

it depends if you can balance like that (with more weight (than normal) on ur backfoot) but if ur edges are detuned it shudnt matter,

dont really do anything, if you are perfectly balanced on the rail your edges wont dig in and you wont eat shit, if ur to far back your skis will slip out and ull eat shit. Just make sure to stay balanced, I recomend starting out on boxes to get the feal for the balance needed, then step it up to a flat rail.... then so on.

i never think about that and all beginers always ask me and i say dont worry about it but your first coupletimes its pretty natural to for them to try and then there feet come out from under them

just go out and do it, if you think about to much stuff when your hitting it youll eat it anyway, just stay focused on your balance and look at the end of the rail

it really depends like the rest said you dont think about that when you are on the rail

i hate when you caghte an edge i was out the other day and i catgh an edge really bad but managed to not face palnt it was so skceky

i dont have detuned edges and i have never caught and fell on my face so the leaning back shouldnt be an issue.....start on a box (trust me they are more forgiving) for me it helps to start with a wide stance about shoulder width apart give or take depending on what your comfort zone is....just pop and make sure to have your upper body forward a touch and you should be fine...
