Rails

Well I could be a dick and say use the searchbar...but

Come up to the rail at a decent speed, not super fast but not slow either. Spin about 90 onto the rail, keep an open stance with your feet roughly shoulder length apart. Keep your head up and looking at the end of the rail. Ride it out like a pro.

I always try to put my weight on the tips of my toes. it helps me center my weight over the rail.

Ohh, and bend you knees.

also, if its your first time trying, you're probably going to slip backwards. Make sure you get all the way around 90, and get some wait on your front foot. Wide balanced stance on the rail and youre golden.

^yea your weight should be centered or even a little forward on to you front foot. also if you can practice on a box before you go to rails that is always good.

DONT LEAN BACK

main mistake at first try as far as I can tell

your weight has to be in your center. oh and start on those 1 inch above the snow baby rails and boxes or whatever, safe as

u should start by practicing poppin 90 degrees on flat land and landing soft and landing even with good weight distribution a couple of times, u also need to figure out which direction is most comfortable for u to turn. u definately dont wanna eat rail by getting an edge landing on the rail. Choose a rail with a simple ride up, no gap up, and wider than usual. Rails might take a while cuz u need a feel for ur speed. Trial and error baby.

when starting out, I still do this now for the first few days of the season try to put your weight REALLY far forward. After you get comfortable you can just ride it normal

one word....COMMITMENT. if u dont commit, you will fall on your face or nuts. i did both.lol.

after you commit and realise they are not hard/something to be afraid of...you will be pro....expect to fall a few times though.

feet shoulder width apart, and try to keep perpindicualr with the rail, pretty much lean with slope of rail, if there is any

best thing you can do is build a small backyard box, put it in the ground completely so it wont hurt as bad to fall. at first when ur trying put your hands out in front of you. you will look like a fool but ur in ur backyard and it helps a ton when first starting to keep ur weight foward. keep knees bent and keep ur weight centered/foward. after uve got that down, work on ur steez

start on boxes. not sure if that was said or not. the wider the better. if any moutnains near you have a wide butter box practice on that

this is the BEGINNERS way of hitting a rail for the first time:

find the lowest rail possible, stand on it stationary and get the feeling for how slick it is and wat your stance shood be like, feet should be wide

next, approach the rail slowly and let one ski ride up onto it and hang the other one on the side.

next, approach the rail again, same speed, very slow and do the same thing, only this time, halfway through the rail turn tht ski at a 45 degree angle and put the other one on.

next, do the same thing but turn it so its perpendicular to the railand have both feet on

next. try jumping and turning on the rail at a 45 degree angle

next, jump on spin 90 degrees land and slide it out

congrads, you hit a rail, good job, but dnt claim
