Rails????????????

start out on flat boxes then progress to flatt rails

but remember to keep an even center of gravity shoulder width stance and not to much or to little speed

i started out on a small flat rail, but boxes are easier, theres probably 10000 threads about this, use the searchbar

just keep practicin on boxes. just go pretty fasst and do boxes and get real good at them and rails will just click. i mean ive tried at flat rail only a few times in my life and i never did it (beginning of my freestyling) but then i just got so good at boxes my first rail i ever did was a flat down flat.

ride up, jump, turn 90 degrees, slide, turn 90 degrees, ride away smooth...

haha sorry, just practice and what those guys said

have someone teach you that knows whats goin on...newbs always make some mistake they and cant tell why they're not performing, and its frustrating without someone to tell you what to fix...15 mins could be enough to get u started

yea when i started to do them i started on small flat rails, then i worked my way up and now they r my favorite thing to do

It's a hell of a lot easier if you're actually 90 degrees. My first 10 times or so i'd get about 35-45...i'm getting there. Then again I started on a small flat rail and ride single tips.

being confident is key for learning rails. if you fall, all u gots to do is get back up again. know what im sayin ?

YOur supposed to go staight at it then pop up and turn 90 then (at least for me) once your on the rail it's cake.

i cant do em, but i would think just imagine its a box adn do the exact same thing, correct me if im wrong, but it might help.

ya u got to remember to jump then turn 90 degrees a common mistake i see alot of ppl make is they start to turn without jumping and that messes em up

keep your skis even on either side riding up to the rail, but make sure you jump up to it and don't go straight with the rail between your legs, especially if its a battleship.

just keep doing the normal rail and look at the end, even if u crash keep doing it, it wont take too long, at least thats how i did it

If your named is Matthew, you ski at Blue Mountain, you have Dynastar Troublemakers, and you like men, then your out of luck

I do, rails dont even scare me anymore, its because i listened to all the people on NS who said that migic word. Commit.

no really, try it

go fast dont lean back and keep the rail under ur boots i find wen u feel u r to close to the back of ur boots thats wen ur perfect centre and its the easiest to balance

Confidence is so key.

And keep your knees bent and lean forward. You'll almost always lean too far back at first. Maybe sure you get the rail right under your boot too and you'll be golden.

first thing is commit u wanna keep the railor box between ur legs as ur riding up to it keep ur skis a bit mroe than shoulder width once u r at the rail jump not high and turn 90 once ur on the rail stay balanced lean foward if ur problem is falling back keep ur head focused at the end of the rail and once ur at the end let ur head come around and ur skis will follow

keep legs super wide as you are coming up to the rail, do not think about the rail at all, just do it, pop off the lip, landing bent low with bent knees, DO NOT LEAN BACK TOO MUCH, keep your balance and stay calm. be aware that the rail may be more slipperry than you expect, this is why you do not lean back, keep sliding the rail, then stick that shit like ductape

to things to remember

1. wide stance(about shoulder width)

2. flat ski's(cause edges and rains just dont mix)

hit it w/ pretty decent speed...if you go up to it thinkin like a puss and acting all scared it deff wont help...hit it w/ confidence..turn 90 and ride out! once u get it theres not goin bak

WHen i learned raIls it aws because some kid who was a weekend warrior was stomping em. I was so pissed that i rolled though and tore the shit up. Get angry, scream, break something, and then go shred though em

This is like the 4th thread I've seen in the past 20 minutes where you said you didn't go to school today...aren't you in middle school?

YOu're going to fall a lot and it's going to hurt, but whatever.

i had no intrest in rails then a like little 11 year old was just ripping them so i did it with no problems. i guess it was just a little confidence boost.

rails... jump, 90 on, dont lean back or forward too far, 90 off. just keep practicing and you will get it, after a while you dont even think about it

The way i learned was to either pretend you were jumping onto a stationary skateboard on the ground ( i dont know if you ever did that but ive tried), or to pretend the rail is actually coming towards you, as if in a videogamel and youre not moving forwards or backwards, you just rotate your body, it helps to keep yourself balanced.
