Rails vs. Jumps

RAILS. jumps i feel dont offer much for change. you can only spin and flip so much before you're maxed out and cant do anything else. rails you can do pretty much anything you want, and then theres all the different types of rails. and urban.

definitely jumps give you the best feeling ever, just getting so much air and you're like oh shit i want to do that again but rails are definitely sick to chill on, if i had to pick, id say jumps are my favorite, i just wish i was better at them

My personal preferance is jumps mainly because i'm far more comfortable with them. I do have alot of respect for people who nail rails though. I plan on getting better at them >.>

Good Weather/conditions: I'm skiing pow. In the trees, in the backcountry, anywhere I can get the stuff, natural features and smearing turns are way more fun than anything in the park, IMHO.

Bad weather/conditions: If I was forced to choose between the two or die, jumps. Rails are fun, don't get me wrong, but it gets really tiring destroying skis.

it does make it fun. to do a 3 on a bigger jump than your used to is the best feeling for me.

the feeling of practically flying off of a 50, 55 foot kicker is unrivaled (so far) for me

When I wrote "Good Weather/conditions" i didn't mean fresh powder - I was just relating to good average conditions with partly cloudy weather and a good temperature :)

Many pardons...I see good weather I am thinking powder, it is just a impulse I cannot control. When it snows or it has snowed recently, I think fuck the park and all that engineered jibbery I want the real stuff.

I personally think rails are the most fun thing you can do on skis. Better than jumps, pow, whatever. But that's just me.

Ummm you are part of a small minority....or it is just you by your lonesome....sad.

The question remains: what has powder done to make you hate it so? Did you have a bad experience with tip dive? Did you get burried neck deep for hours? Find forgiveness in your heart and turn towards the powder and embrace it lovingly like a lost brother, you will be rewarded...

Eeeehhhh... I haven't really had the chance to hit very many jumps other than the tiny 40 footers at my mountain... so at the home hill, rails. Or all-mountain in general.

jumps. if im trying a new trick, or pretty tech trick and i land it, the adrenaline is insane. i just dont get the the same thrill with rails.

Depends on how well built the Jump is. If its nice like a breck, park city jump than nothings better than floating and spinning perfect booters, but if the jumps suck than sessioning rails is always fun

Very close but in my opinion rails are better because you can fiind rails way easier then building a jump and i find it more fun to jib a rail then a jump. thats my opinion :)
