RAILs "STORIES"

O.K. today I was skiing mainly on rails since our park, big air, & half pipe were closed for a Snowboard Comp. The last time I hit a rail (plastic) had a little crotch crash. But anyways I was actually able to do the metal rail today and actually slide on it and feel my weight on top of it. ANYWAYS ! I just thought it was so cool that I accomplished that. But does anyone have any other Rail Stories????

Just so everyone can laugh at my shitty rail skills...

I have nutted myself twice, hi my hip twice, and caught my head on the end of a rail once.

I have only completely slid a mailbox, and a funbox.

theres one rail i totally conquered at Sunday River and it was a PVC rail, i figured i would bust my ass on it, other then that, i bust my ass on flat rails all the time. but at mount snow they have a shitload of mailbox's and those are the best to learn on in my opinion, but i cracked my shit, hit my head off a rail, and slit a few, then i finally got a helmet, and i figured i dont care if i hurt any parts of my body other then my head, thankgod for helmets..

luckily i haven't nutted myself (yet), but when i was learning rails, my feet would always fly out front ahead of me. i was constantly hitting my hip on the rail.

just be comfident, or you will lean too far foreward or back.

My sweetest rail trick is probably japan disaster on a flat rail

i actually havent hurt myself on a rail yet. i havent tried anything huge yet tho. i learned first on the little 1 fot off the ground about 7 or 6 ft long flatbar at mt.ste.marie this year. since then i havent really tried anything besides a few other small things, and the ABS(same as PVC but less money) rail beside my house. it's really good to learn on. i just hope i dont kill myself one of these times haha... it happens to everyone at some point.

i got nutted during the march break so im goin back to plasic rails no higher than 2 feet off the ground

Keep 'em rippin!

i nutted my self on a big 10 stair handrail...its hurt ...i have it on video...

i'm still yet to nut myself. but i'm going to stop doing rails. they're fucking up my skis, and its just not worth it. i suck at them anyways. i used to be able to slide the 20 footer easily, now i cant even get onto a rail properly. i still slide funboxes and the trapezoid box at grouse is fun for 50-50 up, frontside across and down.

Ive had some great rail crashes this year.

First day out, nothing cool but I smashed my hip and it kills me EVERY FUCKING TIME I SKI! It must be bruised badly or something.

Later that day I was sliding this 40' double kink. After the second kink I got off center/backseat and both my skis came off on the rail. First time I double ejected sliding a rail. I was just sittin there laughing.

At Vail I got worked. I had some minor falls on the big kinked rail and the srail but I decided to just fuck around on the trapezoid. I was going to do that thing tha olson did, slide up to the top of the first slant and then back downt the same way. First time it almost worked, second time I went at it with a little too much speed, got to the flat part, one ski got caught and fell off then I fell head first to the ground. Then I thought Id try that rail that angles up. I went at it pretty fast, didnt fully turn 90* and just nutted it, but the funy thing was that I just kept going up the rail straddling it. Then there was learning the rainbow rail...

I had a ski get caught behind the rail once, it came off and I slid the whole 15 footer on 1 ski and 1 ski boot, i didnt even realize it had come off, till i was off the rail.

big willy i was jsut at vail today. that rainbow is fucking tall......i do the one at breck and stuff....those aren't intimidating, but jesus that vail rainbow is huge! that trapiziod they have is pretty damn big too. i can get that staircase like its nothing now. and their straight to decline. and all they're flat rails. and the incline to straight alright. im working on that S rail. i got almost all the way.....jsut that last little curve, its a sharp one......soon i'll have it. (this should've been in an IM) but anyway, rail stories.

1.) today i double ejected on a 25 foot flat rail. just was cruisin on it and my broken brake caught the rail.....flipped me off and somehow i was on the ground without any skis.

2.) i was chillin testing out the rails slickness for a 20 stair staircase.....hopped on it with my shoes...got caught in a groove and started grinding the rail on my shoes....went to jump off and slipped....busted half a backflip and a 180, then my head connected with one of the stairs (10th from the top) and i got a concussion and got knocked out.....rolled down the rest of the stairs...got up and laughed and then 30 min. later had a sprained wrist, fucked up face and a concussion.

3.) first 3 rail sessions i ever did i'd lean too far back so i'd just smack the rail right on my ass. then my 4th session i got my stance and rails have never been so easy

4.) i was doing this straight to decline drop off that we built down here in littleton. turns out it wasn't deep enough in the ground so it was shakey....i went up to grind it, slipped out from under me.....i fell and smashed my armpit on the rail...that one hurt

thats all i need to share.....

I crashed off a rail at Sunday River this past week. I was leaning way too far back and I fell off and landed on my hip. The landing was pretty icey and I felt like an 80 year old man for the rest of the week complaining about my aching hip.

Where did you find it?

I don't know. I was too excited. We're in the Lesbian stronghold

zoltyi which rail was it at sunday river?

yeah occasionally during the day it feels like I have no edges at all, I am assuming this is because of grinding, damn grinding and its wrecking the skis!!!!

tremblant flatbar hurt me a few times sunday but i got it like 3rd try. never done a rail that slick hahahaha. so surprised to find out slippery it was!!!

props to all you guys trying crazy shit on the rails, it takes cojones, and it looks cool, but don't forget about what skiing's all about. I was at Jay this weekend, in a over a foot of fresh, and believe me, i had no desire to dick around in the park. Jibbings cool when theres no fresh stuff, but skiing is all about the steep and deep. In 10 years, when jibbing is no longer cool, there will still be powder. POWDER TO THE PEOPLE!

I was trying to slide this one at snoqualmie's gay park early this season and my feet slid out in front of me, I flew back and smacked my head right on the rail. (I think)... I guess I blacked out for a bit and woke up to this chick telling me to get out of the way. I got to the bottom of the hill where these guys I met that day were waiting and didn't remember anything. I knew I fell, but I thought it was off a jump til they told me it was on the rail. Then I couldn't remember their names or why I was with them so they were kinda scaring me and weirding me out. It was supposed to be our last run so we were getting ready to leave, but I thought I had just gotten there. I have a whole lot of trouble committing to rails now, especially that one.

Hey Mike D it was the second to last rail in the starlight park.

Where did you find it?

I don't know. I was too excited. We're in the Lesbian stronghold

This weekend I hit the trees at Mount Snow and a foot of fresh and what did I spot but a fallen log coming out of the ground, sloped upward to about 6 feet high. I thought I was in heaven. The first time I skied up to it and barly hit it. We decided to session it for a awhile. Its a little harder to gringd a log, its a bumpy ride. We got some great video though, I made it about 8 feet across and kept having to hop off. Not to bad, but my friend jumps on slides the whole thing and 270's off from 6 feet up, just missed a tree after he landed and skied away. This was a gift from god, its not to often you get to jsut stumble upon a perfectly fallen tree to grind in a foot of fresh. What a fuckin day!!! A little fresh pow and some jibbin to boot. Just when I thought this season was a complete waste.

Thanks for reminding us what skiings all about, I totally forgot about powder, unfortunately my hill only got pow once this season. Dude, most of us would prefer to hit pow or the steeps more than park, but we dont need to say it in every post.

bitchassphatz, I was blown away with all the sweet rails at vail. I dont know why ppl bash that mtn so hard, yeah richies in thier one-pieces ski there but who cares, I didnt see too many of them in the bowls. In that vid of you slidin the rainbow at breck, that looks just as intimidating, not as high but long.

OK here's one. I was just acting cool slowly coming up to this 'plastic flat rail' think'n I was all that and suddenly WOOOPS right on the pelvic bone between the legs just slidding to the end of this tall tall tall rail. Hanging there at the end both legs on each side. Struggling to get off, but can't cause I'm stunned by the pain. But when I get off and no more pain after like 5 sec., while these snowboarders and wedge skiers look at this girl who totaly got bitched slapped by the rail I was thinking 'THAT DIDN'T EVEN HURT THAT BAD.' (so thank you God for making me a women!'

i was teaching these guy from god knows where to rail slide and they just didnt get that you had to turn 90 in the air and they were eating shit big time.

i'm pretty sure i broke my thumb falling off the rail. but, im ignoring it so my parents will let me ski

Dave Thomas is my Hero!!!!!

i did the 6ft ranibow at stevens/ got to the top then did the spilts. then i hiked up and nailed it 3rd try

SPKA- stevens pass kicks ass

today i got ontop of a trapazoid rail and stopped, i was just standing there for a fiew seconds before i decieded it would be best to jump off. it sucked, i shoulda like side stepped back up it and slid down the way i came up, that woulda been cool.

I almost had a really sketchy rail incident today. I was trying to get onto a rail at St-Sauveur, but there was a bit of a gap before the rail. I didn't have enough speed, so one of my skis landed in the gap. If I had been any slower, I would have jumped sideways straight into the start of the rail. Not cool.

Hey etom a rail to stall is pretty cool. Would have been better I guess if you were trying to do it.

Where did you find it?

I don't know. I was too excited. We're in the Lesbian stronghold

yah, it was pretty tight, i felt soo cool, but the thing is i couldnt really say i was trying to do it cus i never cleard the rail. i dont think i could do it again ether, it was luck. oh well.

powder is fucking great, i've only skied it once though. skiing is about making your way down a huge hill in style. that is all. jibbing or whatever you want to call it is skiing, but with tricks involved. whatever. im tired.

anyways, i did a 10 foot cannon rail at tyrol this year, it was cool. i grinded the whole thing on my first try, thanks to inlines skating. i dont care what you say about inline skating, its awsome for helping with skiing, and if your think its gay or whatever, then i'll gladly give your a 12 inch log, 8 inches in diameter, to fuck yourself in your crabinfest cunt with.. thank you.

fucked up a burly kink at loon over the weekend, first try what?! ita a nasty rail 10 feet flat 15 foot steep down kink. pretty high pop up to it. nialed it the rest of the day. never fell once.i pprobably sound like a cocky bitch but i cant remember the last time i fell on a railslide...

Hey I am just learning to rail and i think i got it down pretty good but everytime that i satrt to lose my balance adn try to get off i bail. My slides are fine i just can't get off when i can't finish. Any tips for being able to jump off?

my friend got a HUGE fur coat at vallue village for like 5 bucks, and when we went up with our school he wore it, he was sooo pimp, it was helarouse. in the air he looked like he had a cape on. he was learning rails that day and it was sooo funy cus he fell on his back like every time cus the coat was sooo heavy, but it was cool cus he was toattly commited for some reason. he wouldnt give up.

my first attempt at a metal rail. left me with a welt the size of 3 hand prints on my left thigh, it hurt to ahve pants on. it was swollen about 5 cm's.. eww it was so gross... but i loved it cause it was a 'war wound' i ahve yet to try another because the rails at hockley got put away.

being fucked around sucks. to all u assholes around. dont talk to me. i've had it with guys.
