Rails not important?

It seems that rails arent that important in contests and that jumps are most important. Rails are in my opinion only cool in videos.
 
I think that jumps are judged more in comps but i think are more stylish and more important but i think that urbans are sick for videos but rails and jumps should be evenly judged
 
word - if u can make it stand out, it counts. same reason sw 10s dont win big air anymore. man im glad we can say that now.
 
sw 10's are still winning comps. I saw schlopy on the SI next snow search on TV on sunday he did one and he won. by the way that was sick
 
dont u guys think rails are easier though because to a certain extent if u get the right balance u can do most of the rail tricks out there plus u can really die a lot easier on jumps

 
i completly disagree rails are harder than jumps personaly ecspecialy when you start getting into the the switchups and shit jumps you just commit it and dont have the chance of losing your left nut

but yeah its kinda retarded like in x gaems the judges were having a convo while all these guys are 450ing onto rails and shit it makes me mad
 
Ya i mean its gonna be spin to win for awhile till it gets way to gnarley I mean even the 12 year olds on the SI thing was spin to win but schlopy was the only one to land a sw 10
 
like i know kids who fucken anialate rails and cant jump to save their life so what i mean is that if you cant jump... your screwed foo
 
Then work on something creative. Try to nollie. Butter more. Shifty onto a rail for chrissakes. A good lipslipe nosepress would win any contest I was judging.
 
well its like, even look at the x-games. that first box/rail set up everyone did basically the same trick, 270 on, or sw 270 on, switch up. Which like, you'll see someone doing something harder than that in your own park. And the people that did harder rail stuff in the x games didn't really get rewarded for it that much.
 


candide did a sw6 to rail. and it was rewarded. But i agree the rail weren t thant bad in x game, it would be more fun if they were like 5-kink, or super gaps..
 
skiings going more towards jumping imo, but personally i prefer rails. comp wise, id definetly say jumps, but everything else including myself and vidoes i prefer rails
 
agreed - jumps take more guts than rails, no doubt, but to all the rail tech tricks people bring out now are soooo sick.

That first box at X-games slopestyle was awesome
 
yo schlopy, i saw the nextsnow on tv, and there was a kid named schlopy in it, and he absolutely killed it. Was that you?
 
it´s not "a sw 14" ... that thing was perfectly stomped..... long hold grab good air time good landing.... sw 12 octo was sick man.... did u ever seen a video of that big air?

 
I could do 30 cab 7 off a jump and they would look pretty much all the sme if i want to and I couldnt do 30 urban style 270 on pretzels ourt in a row to save my life.

and you say jumps are harder....
