Why is rails so popular? There seems that its so many skiers that prefers rails before jumps etc. But i dont get it. Well, its a bit fun if theres a bad day on the jumps. But otherwise, i think its pointless. It would be a dream if there would be any video with almost no rails. Rails only demolish your skis

cause you can do rails anywhere, and each year you have like 15 new kind of rails unlike jumps that always come out to the same thing.

rails can be set up anywhere, anytime. jumps cannot, especially at a smaller hill, also they are easier to learn compare to some air tricks.

you cant tell me that learning rails is easier...sure if all you do is a regular slide...but once you try to get 270's on...unnatural...switch on...and stuff like that it can be just as hard if not harder than jumping

i agree on one point: doing rails is pointless. however, so is skiing. i don't accomplish much at the hill on any given day other than wasting like 8 hours and getting a little more money's worth out of my pass.

it is a lot of fun though, and so are rails. i could definitely spend hours hitting rails and not get bored. to each his own though.

 
i dont think this kid is very open minded and if people arent rich they can still have fun bringing their skis into the urban. Passes cost money, and ya they're fun as hell and a movie without them would lick balls

jumps have more variety in tricks, but rails are cool

Rails originally came to popularity in skateboarding. Skateboarders were looking for something that was a challenge, was very abundant, and was different from just skateboarding. They found rails. Think about it. Rails are EVERYWHERE, they require no extra equipment, they provide a challenge, and they're just overall fun.

if you really want a vidoe with only 2 rails inthe whole thing...vivid...they only have like 4 park jumps exluding helmsdale in the whoel thing as well...its pretty much all freeriding and bc booters

No im not really good at rails, and that is cause the fact of that i dont want to demolish my skis. I want to ski pipe and if you want to ski it you just cant have bad edges on the ski. To next year I will buy an extra pair of skis. One pair that i never hit any rail with and a pair that i can do both with, simpliest that way.

sharp edges are overrated, iannic B. skies edges are so dull and fucked but he can still throw switch 7's in the 1/4 pipe and sick 540's in the pipe
