Rail Ski for All Mtn.

Im gonna buy some new skis for about 70%park 30% allmtn, i live in n.c. though so the mountains wont open for a little while. Until they do, im gonna be hitting a lot of urban rails. What ski is gonna hold up through all the rails and still be good for the rest of the season. Im 5'11' 160lbs. Im looking at the pes, scratch fs, fujative, tm, but any other suggestions are appreciated.

no ski holds up on rails in the end. You are best off buying used twins that havent been railed, and using those. If you buy a brand new pair, I guarantee you the edges will be completely destroyed and you will be looking for a new pair next season. Spent the least amount of $ on rail skis.

well i think it depends on how much u plan on payin, cuz u can get 1260s for dirt cheap but they prolly wont hold up as good as mojos/madtrix which cost much more

 
i was looking to do rails this year too with twins....just get into it. I never thought how ripped up the egdes would get. hmm...is there anyway to keep that from happening? Or if they do get damanged can you repair them? i might just get some cheap ass twins then. but what?

I gurantee he has never ridden them^^^ anyways get used skis like the guy above said , get them for rail's and when the snow comes get some for the mountain. Im sure if you look on her you can find some for 150 top's i bought my rail skis off NS for 110 buck's > Fugative's

oh yeah , the smoother you are and if you dont like slam your skis on rails they will stick around alot longer.

keep your pretty new skis for the mountain, use the skis you have now for urban railing. that's my plan for the year.

NOOOO!!!! dont ruin new skis on urbans! get a pair of shit skis for like 30-50 bucks. people always have old skis like that, they just dont try to sell them cause most people arnt looking 4 beat up old skis. hell, go get a pair of garbage picked skis for free. i have a few pairs if you want them. just dont ruin a 400 dollar pair of skis like that.

400 for used skis aint that great. and it depends what your riding. ledges will kill your skis, rails arnt great, an riding through/over concrete fucks your bases. bases can be fixed, but not edges. seriously, if you want an all mountain park ski, get last years pes, and a pair of older look/ rossi bindings for cheap. you could very easily get away paying much less than 400, and you could buy a pair of junk rail skis too. you will regrete doing rails with new skis, cause its prolly gonna kil them, or at least make them suck.

Yeah why would you go out, buy BRAND new skis. Then proceed to do urban rails on them when you have to ski over concrete, stairs, and rocks....Sounds like alot better idea than just buying some cheap urban only skis for under 50 dollars....

why would you go buy a skateboard and go do urban rails on it? Why buy a rollerblades and go do rails on them?
