Rail run ups??

ok i live in melbourne australia and the closest mountain is 3hrs away, i was wondering if any1 nos anything about dry land skiing, well i was worndering about setting up a rail at my house and what i could use for a run up, what slides? i could you ice but how do i get it to stay.

if any nos or has done anything like this then please tell

either go to a hockey rink and snag some snow from the zamboni, or get astro turf and put water and soap on it, there are alot of threads on this though, so check them also, they will hel alot

thats snowfence, its slides pretty good and you can find it pretty much anywhere. and a ladder propped up on like garbage cans or something will do just fine as a drop it
 
Yo if you're really hard core, grab a skate and get a buddy to push you at the rail. Then when you get there just jump off onto the shit like you just came from the snow. We used to do this when we were jonesin for snow in whistler and set rails up accross ditches and shit so you could skate up to it, rail gap over the ditch, ride away on the grass. Good times!

haha dont worry about it man. we were all newbs once, and you happen to be a chill one that doesnt make a thousand posts a day like me. so dont say you wasted our time, as you saw, you helped some other guys out too.
