u know those 'grind rails' you can buy at dicks sports, are those at all any good for skiing, and if i was to get one, can i paint it different colors and not affect the slide of it?

well the paint will just chip off from your edges were u slide ..........DUH but on the side and stuff i bet it will work

as long as the rail doesnt have multiple sections, i have a skate rail that wouldnt work good for slidding on skis

i spray paint my rails every fall and the paint doesn't come off. you just gotta use the GOOD SHIT. and as for rusting, which sucks, you can get a drill bit brillo pad type thing that helps a ton, you just gotta scrape down the rail with that right before you spray paint.

i got one of those at dicks, and yes i spray painted it. and yes of course if chipps, its good to see where you are grinding though. and the slide alright but its not really worth it because they are so short, close to the ground and shit so yes just don't get one

haha, if you wast money on that, your retarded. man, either make a box style rail, or go ghetto-two saw horses, 12 ft section of 6 inch PVC and two C clamps. works great, takes like 2 minutes to set up.

ive already made a pvc one too, and for the ones from dicks im planning on not keeping it that low, maby drilling it into some boxes or just building a decent sized now mound to boost it up

before you paint a rail make sure you rub over it with a brillo pad or something so that the paint sticks better don't buy one of those cheep ones from dicks go to a welding shop and have them make you one it's prolly cheaper and will be much better

 
my trampoline broke the other day when i was jumping on it...im turning it into 2 C rails, and im fiberglassing the top then waxing it...should be sick

 
i have that exact rail and it sucks

not even worth it because if u wanna make it more than 6 feet uj hae to buy more rails plus its made for skating so its real cheaply made and not built for the edges and stuff that skiing does to it

 
im going to try and make a 25foot rail in my backyard. with sheet metal and 2x4's. it should work out pretty well.
