Ok i thought it would be cool to have a thread on easy ways to build rails. try to give good descriptions with few words. here are mine

If you have a straight rail this will work

1. Drill holes into it but slightly from the side and then find metal bars to put through the holes. It won't require welding because the pipe will keep it on. Then just stick the metal bars into the ground

2. Cut a slit on the ends and then stick some wood across and then you can make it higher or lower and it's very stable.

heres an real easy way to make a good sterdy rail

1) cut three pieces of 4x4 to 3 foot lengths

2) cut another three pieces of 4x4's to the disired height of your rail minus 4 inches (ieif you wanted a 4 foot tall rail cut the 4x4's to 3'9)

3) then cut 6 pieces of 2x4 to 8 inch lengths

4) lay the 3 foot piece flat and put the other piece standing in the middle of your 3 foot 4x4 ( you will have an upside down 'T')

5) On each upside down T screw in a 2x4 piece on each side of the T. You will now have a sterdy leg support

6) get some pvc (4 inch diamiter) up to 18 feet long. at each end drill two holes. The first should be about 4 inches in from the end, the next should be about 2 inches from that one so a total of 6 inches in from the end. Then in the very middle drill two holes 2 inches apart. ( Note: make sure holes are big enough for a screw to go through, the head and all.)

7) drill some smaller holes on the other side of the pipe parrallel from the top holes.

8) screw the screws into the upside down 'T's'. Uses any screws longer than 3 inches. screw in tight and you will have a sterdy rail.

NOTE: If you plan on making your rail longer than 18 feet you should make some more supports and shorten the distance between supports. 6 feet between the supports is pretty much the max befor the pvc starts to bend. If this isnt an easy enough rail to build you are pretty dumb. To make this rail is very inexpensive, you do not have to worry about edges because plastic is softer than steel and pvc is very slippery so the rail will always be fast. I hope this helps all the people on this site who are to lazy to figure out how to build a rail.

I just wanna ski, is that to much to ask in life
