Rail Material

I have a question for y'all. I've read all the forums about rails and where to get the steel and whatnot. That, however is not my concern. What I want to know is what types of metal to use. I've noticed in past experiences that some types of metals on certain rails are much 'stickier' than others. Is there a particular type of steel that slides well? If so, where can I get it?

Aluminum is a softer metal, It will be more harder to weld, you would proly need to tig weld it if you didnt steel a bench from a local rec feild. also copper doesnt slide well its very soft, and you will dig your edges in very quickly. thats basicaly all I know.

In other words DO NOT USE ALUMINUM it is not good at all for a rail. Make sure to use hot-roll steel if you're gonna use metal. It's easy to weld and slides well.
