Rail Malfunctions

Yo, so me and my friend built a sick setup, with a really good drop i. Then we go to hit it and the rail (i built it in a welding class) is too soft so we catch.

Any ideas on how to ad to the rail and fix it?

Thanks

your edges are too sharp and the rail is probably aluminum.

the only solution is to literally file down your edges so they are completly dull.

I wouldn't file down your skis all the way dull, unless you really don't care about them. I would just get a steel rail.

the teacher who i got the pipe from says it is steel pipe, and my edges are pretty dull, they are old skis, so i'll file em down more so they are smooth. but my metal shop teacher says to file the rail, im not sure if that'll work.

well there shouldnt be a problem if its steel and dont file down the rail that will only speed up the process of the metal rusting

what you could do i wax it

now when i waxed mine i took a candle rubbed it on and then dripped it on as well using a heat gun then i heated up the wax on the rail till it was liquid which doesnt take long and then used a old credit card and started from one end and scrapped down towards the other end Now be careful because the credit card will melt easily if your using a heat gun and the heat is blown onto the card

hope that helps

take a picture of the rail and throw it on here. there is no reaosn that you should be catching on a steel rail. is it a barrell or square tube?
