Rail jam at big boulder May 7

maybe if it rains the rail jam'll be postponed....

that'd be sweet..i'd actually be able to go...just any day but may 6!

i dont see why they wouldnt...boulder's pretty decent about stuff like that (as far as i know, anyway...)

clark, besides the oakley jam at boulder (which had legit prizes), blue put on the most fun jam i've been to. the setup was arguably better than any other jams i was at this year as well. you ride at blue on a regular basis? i've probably seen you there...

yea i suck but im the kid that won 14 under slopestyle. i wear that gay black jacket with like gray stripes. i ski on fujatives.

the thing with the rail jam that was so gay was how it wwas organized. i had fun b/c it was my first comp and i won a pair of bindings. i also liked the flat to gap down box. it was my first time doin a box like that. it was just the organization of the whole thing. it wasnt rly a "jam" it was more of a rail comp.

yes please!!! i really wanna go! even if i cant compete.....

i'm really counting on the weather to suck so they'll change teh date...

pretty please boulder??? haha

Wanted to get an update out there to all:

There will be a different setup for this event -the staircase is being put away and rumor has it that the park crew will be bringing out the Urban Assault 40' rail and some other features so you can ride all day...

Also for all who compete they will get a lift ticket for next season. Some other prizes include 2-1 day surf camps, goods from Oakley, 940 Snowboards, and still working on getting more prizes and giveaways! There will also be a cash purse-the more competitors the higher the purse...

^^ its a 40 foot long square iron flat rail about 6 inches wide. its really nice and smooth, but they had these super retarded angled lips on either side of it this year, hence the "urban assault" element, but they kinda sucked. it was mroe fun last year when they just had the nice long mellow lip in front of it. urban style on square flat rails is kinda wierd to me, save that stuff for downsloped rails where it makes sense.

^^that rail was awesome around the starting of jan during the first week of the z-games, but they just didnt bother to keep it up

well they said that they are having more than one rail with an update...down flat down box....a 6" and a 10" rail and then a box combo...its gonna be nuts..you dont need a lot of snow and most mountains could do it still

i actually am jealous of that fact that you guys are gonna be on snow.

and when i said the rail was beat, i meant the length. its def a sick rail, just too long for a summer jam

yea, in season you had to come hauling at it. speed's gonna be an issue if they use that rail for sure.

I keep trying to ask around. Does anyone know who at BB is setting it up? It should be up and shaped by now..

Update: the setup doesnt have the 40fter any more. Its now two 20 foot flat rails and two 15 foot boxes, with the chance of settting more up in the morning.

Here is another update for the Big Boulder May Day Rail Jam!!

The guys just finished grooming and were able to get 2 rails and 2 boxes set up. The snow is really soft so they were not able to get the box to box combo set up.

Registration will begin at 10am tomorrow at the Double Decker in which you can practice as soon as you are registered. The groms will have the first session starting at noon sharp! The 16 and over class will start immediately after. The top 10 from each group will advance to the finals. Will give more details tomorrow at the riders meeting which will be at 11:45am.

BBQ pit will be fired up and the deck will be open for all to watch this spectacular event!!

Prizes sponsored by: Oakley & Armada, Ocean Outfitters, WMMR, Mike n Matts, Skirmish, 940 Snowboards, The Ski Bum, and JFBB.

that railjam was so god damn awesome. I've never been at a rail jam that was so fun. The set up ruled, it was well organized, people threw down like never before, especially that guy who threw the backflip on the down rail, and ya, it was fucking awesome. Boulder rules
