hey guys,i got a rail from the guys at guru rails a while ago and we havent gotten a chance to use it yet but we're planning on doing so soon and we see that on top of the paint is rust.
if we just sand it off will it go away?\or will it come back everytime it rains?
THANKS

sand and wax afterwards. usually candle wax works well to help it slide and it helps prevent rusting after you use it, but its not that big of a deal to sand and wax each time before you use it, you just have to have really low grit paper and a good block

If its really rusty, use a wire wheel and a grinder, and grind all the rust off. Paint it afterwards and wax and it will be good to go for a while.

No. We do the same process to all our rails before teh season and they're fine. Wire wheel, get them nice and smooth, paint them, and set them out. They're fine.

sand off the rust and paint it. i just finished welding my metal rail today and just painted it. I bought 1 can of some primer, laid down a solid coat of that, and then painted it with a can of rustoleum

Huh, i thought that painting it would make it not slide as well as if the skis were actually on the metalThe guy we got it from told us to sand down the paint a little before we ride it so...Oh and I'm Mr.~Jib's brother by the way

If it gets too far use some candle wax too smooth it down

It lasts forever, I rarily need to re wax any ot the curbs in town
