Rail construction

So, I want to make a sixteen foot flat rail, but pipes dont come in 16' lenth. So im taking 2 eight-footers and joining them together. Here's where i need some tips. Should I simply weld the two ends together, or is more bracing necessary. Also, if i butt the ends together and connect them from the inside without welding, will the chink be noticable when sliding on skis?

Thanks a bunch everybody!

"Are they any good?"

"No they suck. Good Name though."

if they are flat bar, weld a plate on the bottom, and sides with half on each end of the rail

you don't need to give up pot for a year. Just 32 days, lots of excercise and alcohol

u should definately welh plates ^ but also weld around the whole pipe then grind it smooth. thats what i did when i made my flat down rail.

weld all the way around then grind it smooth and use angle iron or a little bigger pipe and well that to the bottom to make it stronger
