Rage Films: Not big on safety?

So I just watched Enjoy, Rage's film from last year and while I thought it was great in many respects, I was also turned off by how many slides their skiers set off in the BC. At one point I was like, every other line would slide. Its up to them what they do I know but when they are portraying avvy after avvy in a movie as if its normal then kids can get the wrong message. Also, I noticed the crash segment was longer and burlier than any other movie I'e seen: are these guys pushing it too far or should I mind my own business?
 
I've noticed that as film companies progress over the years they tend to get safer, for example old TGR films I thought had way more avalanches in them. They also did a lot of stuff like running cars into guard rails and wheelies on 3 wheelers.
 
Participating in a dangerous activity (such as back country skiing) can be done safely. If not you are stupid. You are putting yourselves and other's lives in danger.

Ive seen a few other films like enjoy too

but enjoy is a really good ski movie anyway
 
yeah that's probably right. i watched enjoy and under the influence back to back and maybe it was the stark difference between the 2 that made me think.

whatever, just thought i'd mention it to see what people thought.
 
You want lack of saftey.. just look at the way jumps and halfpipes were built even 7 or 8 years ago and it will blow your mind how poorly they were constructed.

Or you could come ski at Showdown Montana. Here is how fucking ridiculous our park is operated; Last Friday the park guys got some free time to build a new jump. Did they close the park? Of course not. Did they put bamboo, a fence, or a sign above where they were working? Hell no, fuck safety. I am chilling on top of the mountain about to go on sweep with ski patrol when one of the cat operators calls up top giving a kid's description saying to pull his pass when he is on top. It turns out the kid hit the roller right as they were driving the cat up the landing and he was within 2 feet or less of the blade. They turned around and chased him in the cat but he got on the lift without getting caught. Ski patrol chewed them out for jumping blind them gave them the pass back.

Really who was at fault here? Park guys for not closing the park or at least where they were working or the kid for jumping blind. I feel it is both, equally. It was after all a roller in an open terrain park.

Sorry for the tangent there, I might make this into a thread of how far behind Montana is in the park scene.
 
Don't forget they pick which clips to show you. Out of 20 good shots, maybe 10 of them had slides in them and Rage thought they were more exciting to watch. I don't remember too many legit slide shots from their movies. More like sluff.
 
dude they spelled wallisch's name wrong, wtf youd think that so much goes into a movie and they mess up the easiest part
 
I dunno about the Avy stuff, but I think that they are just more willing to show their crash segment for one reason or another.It's my opinion that almost none of the crashes from the pros are in the PBP or Matchstick movies.Because they absolutely crash, but there hasn't been any real crash segments in those movies for a long time. Whereas some of their older movies absolutely have them.Just my thoughts though.
 
In Rage Films "Down Days" they show REAL avalanches and explain how there is snow following them almost every run just because it is so steep, but it's just a bit of powder and not a full slab of the mountain coming out. Pretty easy to tell the difference.

On that note, these guys are professionals, and I don't think it's up to you to question them. They do it all year, every year.
