because i live in fuckin boise idaho the only river close enough for that is the salmon and thasts like ia lottery ticket to float that you have to be so lucky to float it
salmon and the snake river are the only ones you need a permit for. payeete, the south fork of the salmon, south fork of the boise dont need permits. there are tons of other good rivers to raft around boise! i am from nampa, and grew up doing most of those. who cares if it doesnt have a bunch of class 5's on it, rafting is awesome casue you can just kick back and relax and float.
yeah ive done that a couple times, so fun. did you end right under the huge bridge that people base jump off of? cause thats where we stopped when i went.
nah, it's still chill, you jump off the raft and swim, drink beer, chill out, and fuck around, and everyone has a good time between sections of rapids. and polly pocket was the shit.
haha ya man polly was the shit thats why they get so mad when someone says something bad. True that it still can be fun with no big rapids, but i can see how one would not like it.
if you don't like rafting you're probably doing it wrong. But going for just a day on some flat water might be a little boring. The key to rafting is overnight trips. It's way better than any other form of camping. You can bring a ton of shit, and you don't have to carry any of it. Then once you camp you're miles away from anyone at a spot that pretty much only accessed by river. I grew up rafting, my best trip was 18 days in the grand canyon, but even little weekend trips are awesome.Â
I came home one day after school and there was a big box with an inflatable raft in front of my garage for my step dad. He orders random shit off ebay and he thought i would be a good idea to buy a raft and float down the 10 mile river. or a third of it at least. We packed sandwiches in a cooler and some drinks and we floated down the river for 5 hours till we got to the bridge near our home. most of it was flat which was cool cause we got to eat in it and just chill but there where some intense parts which was a lot od fun but for the most part the whole thing was awesome. we have to go down the rest of the river which apparently has category 4 rapids
I wholeheartedly agree with this. I just got into whitewater kayaking this summer; since i started paddling the skiing withdrawl symptoms have become a hell of a lot easier to handle.
