ive also been a christian since i was 4. and i was wondering how a religion, whos founders (everyone of em) was Jewsih

in fact. the early church was all jewish, when the 1st gentile convert, Cornelius, tried to join the church they were outraged, because they thought only jews should be able to join. later paul sent them a letter with much of it explaining how christianity is for all, jew or gentile

so i fail to see how the Bible, written by mostly jewish authors, with a jewsih founder, and much written in favor of the jews, is anti-semetic.

OK douchebags, let's clear this up once and for all, because obviously most of you think that Mormonism is a religion, and not a cult, which it is. Let's list some absolutely INDISPUTABLE facts that Mormons will admit if you press them hard enough.

1)God lives on a planet named Kolob in the center of the universe with his multiple wives.

2)God used to be Adam until he ascended to the heavens.

3)Blacks, hispanics, and asians are mud people who were created from primordial ooze and are actually sub-human. This is unlike the Native Americans, who are actually the lost tribe of Israel and who have been saved because Jesus came to North American after the Resurrection and preached the one true religion to them.

4)Jesus is not God, he is just a really swell guy, who is actually also the brother of the Devil.

5)If you are a good Mormon, and pay your 40% tithe to the Mormon church, you will get to become a god yourself, ruling over your own planet with multiple celestial wives.

These are all agreed upon facts established by the Mormon church elders at some point in the course of their hierarchy's development. Think I'm lying? Go to the library, and read it for yourself.

* One Nation Under Gods: A History of the Mormon Church by Richard Abanes

* Out of Mormonism: A Woman's True Story by Judy Robertson (

* Under the Banner of Heaven : A Story of Violent Faith by JON KRAKAUER

* Mormonism 101: Examining the Religion of the Latter-day Saints by Bill McKeever, Eric Johnson

* Mormonism Unveiled by John D. Lee

Actual practicing Mormons have responded to these books by saying thing such as-- 'As a lifelong member of the LDS church, graduated from BYU, served an honorable mission, former Elder's Quorum President etc. etc. I can tell you that this book is accurate, thoughtful, and very readable.' That was in response to Mormonism 101, which in fact, I got all those 5 pts from. If you come from a Mormom family you are remarkably ignorant about Mormonism, and if you aren't, try reading a fucking book sometime instead of just assuming you know something.

oh yeah, i lived in grand junction for 9 years which is 30 miles from utah, i've know lots of mormons, most of them dont really follow mormonism. most of them are really cool too. but the religion creeps me out. it makes no sense

Ok. To start off. I am a mormon. I am sick and tired of all the shit that people make up about my religion. G, if you have never ever attended a meeting or had ANY kind of personal involvement with the church, how can you say all those things that you did? they have no truth behind them. Lets look at it for a minute.

MYTHS:

CORRECTIONS:

1) GOd is our creator and our heavenly father. He loves us and you will never find any information in our religion about his wife (notice that I didnt say wifes). We consider our heavenly mother (again notice that I didnt say MOTHERS)sacred and so she wasnt degraded by some of the same things that people have done God. (think how many times people use the lords name in vain. It isnt very respectful)

2)I have no idea where you got the info that god used to be adam. That is bullshit. Adam is just like us. A son of god.

3) Why would anyone in their right mind believe that Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians were 'created from primordial ooze and are actually sub-human'? thats stupid. There are more members of our church that are from asia, africa, and South America than there are in America. We believe that we are all sons and daughters of our heavenly father and that it doesnt matter what we look like, Black, white, green, red, blue... It doesnt matter. I dont know where you got that, but again. Its wrong.

4)Jesus is our Lord and Redeemer. He is the only begotten son of our god. He is not 'just some swell guy'. To say that it is very insulting.

5)Our tithing is 10% and that is not the thing that will 'you will get to become a god yourself, ruling over your own planet with multiple celestial wives.' Come on. Get your facts straight.

I hope that this helped to dispell some of the myths about our religion. It is not freaky. We are normal people who love Christ and our Heavenly Father. FOR THE LAST TIME, WE DO NOT BELIEVE IN POLYGAMY. YOU WILL GET EXCOMMUNICATED IF YOU PRACTICE THAT BELIEF. Its disgusting and wrong. I dont want to hear 'oh yeah, I know this mormon guy and he has like 15 wives' because that isnt possible. Any other questions you have about our church I would more than be happy to tell you what we believe and so you dont get all these misrepresentations of who we are. All you other mormons that are on here, step up and tell people what you believe. Stop being pussies.
