Racing Skis?

Better more high performance base, full tapered edges, umm other stuff I can't think of. Some have a racing riser, which sets the bindings higher to get more over the skis to turn faster.
 
I'm not exactly sure but:

-fast race base

-good sidewall construction

-sharp durable edges

-laterally stiff (you don't want any chatter at the speeds racers are going)

-torsionally stiff (this with the addition of sidewall construction allows the ski to hold a solid edge and not boot out or skid out when making an aggressive turn on super hardpack or icy snow)

-various lengths and sidecut profiles depending on the discipline (slalom, gs, super g, downhill, ski cross)
 
typicaly stuffer and have a sandwich construction and meet fis regulations in dimensions...Slalom skis are I think the best performing skis in the pipe. Deep sidecuts and sharp edges that allow you to rail up the walls of the pipe.
 
-width underfoot, so most race skis are like 110+

-sidecut- gs skis have like a 12 m radius, slalom skis have like a 30m raidus

-tip rocker, lets you make tighter turns

-stiffness- the softer the faster

-sidewall thickness- thinner is better

-bases- doesn't really matter as long as bars of wax don't fall off when you nail them to the base

-topsheet- they have to look pretty lame
