After making some mistakes put him out of the hunt for winning the Alpine Rock Festival, American racer and badass extraordinaire Bode Miller pops a 360 AERIAL off the Audi Jump in the middle of a gs run.

Skiing is skiing, once you get to a certain level your kind of just really good at all disciplines. TBH, most pro racers could kill park if they wanted too, look at how many current pros started in racing or moguls.

Not everybody these days, but there is still a good % of older pros who did; for example TJ & Bibby grew up ripping bumps.

Tons of pros started out as racers. It makes sense, you generally have to know how to ski well to become a pro.

I didn't mean the pros that make the transition early on. Racing and moguls is a good way to start out skiing, but most pro racers would not have a chance at learning some of the tricks the main park skiers are throwing down.

what skills do you need in park skiing that aren't learnable past a certain age, or for racers?

bode doing those drunken twirly birds

Air sense, after popping, while rotating, on a jump built for airtime...

Not saying there aren't pros who could slay park...just saying you're wrong in the assumption they could "just go do it"..they'd have a better chance to learn than someone without fundamentals, but they would just be good at it because they're good at racing

Park skiing, like all skiing, is a learned skill.

it may take time, but they could definitely learn to do it. and it would take much shorter than anyone else trying to learn to do those tricks

i mean the jumps they hit in downhill carry them 100+ feet through the air, and they hit them at 70+ mph. It's not exactly the same as hitting a kicker, but i'm sure most of them have pretty good air sense. It would take them a long time to become as good as the guys competing at x games, dew tour, etc. but i'm sure if they wanted they could learn to ski park better than most kids on ns within a year

I'll see your wall ride, and raise you by an attempted backie.

pretty sure these guys could pick up park quickly!
