Anybody here ever gone down a mogul run then a group of 5, 10 year old racers in skintight crap and stuff cut you off then fall about 10 feet later.

this happened to me so i met up with the same kids at the lodge and they came and skiied with me for a little so i obviously took them to the park. One of the racer kids thought he would be cool and try a rail in front of his friends. He racked himself the WORST i have ever seen i thought his balls popped. he cried for about 20 minutes then i had to take him down to his parents. his parents were super pissed at me even though it was his fault

anyone else have a story like this
 
At Big White this weekend there were six year old racers snow-plow criss-crossing the in run to the table line. Worst.
 
yeah I was racing and some kid took me to the park and asked me f I had a newschoolers screen name, I told him mine he said his was cwillman or somthing. Anyway the took me to the park and tryed to do a rail to impress my friends and this kid cause he said it would be easy. I Recked myself. I think I recked my self cause I didnt check myself. Anyway My parents were sceamming at him, and gave me some money to get new balls. God if I get that kids name I gonna leave so many bad things on his messages
 
today was the races for the really little kids (like 8 years old) there was this huge group of them carving down a trail togeather in front of us blocking the whole trail so one of my friends got pissed and rode up right behind one and stopped really quick spraying him. The kid he picked happend to be the smallest of the group and the spray took him right out. (sorry about all the grammer problems i know, i just dont feel like correcting it right now)
 
There were these fuckin racers i had to ride the lift up with cuz i was in the singles line they thought they were the shit then one of them fell when they were trying to get off the lift then later in the day i cruised past them switch
 
You really couldn't though, especially in a gated race, where they could beat you going forwards. But that doesn't make them any less annoying.
 
the other day i saw an entire team of 7th and eighth graders get taken out by a little kid because they were standing in a line in the middle of the one steep spot on the ENTIRE mountain . their coach then took the poor shralper's ski and waited till the kid got up, checked himself out, and hiked about 30ft uphil to the coach, before skiing down hill with the kid's ski. the coach then tried to yell at this poor kid whose only crime was to assume that local racers arent fucking retarded.
 
race kids just suck in general. they think that just because they are on a ski team for a mountain they are the shit. but the thing is that anyone can be on a race team if their parents have enough money. Most of the kids suck dick at skiing but rich little mommy and daddy payed like 2000 to have there spoiled bitch race. therefore the kid thinks he is awsome at skiing cause that mountain wants him on the team.
 
damn i hate racers ( i was one)

once i was skiing down a trial going as fast as i could and i fell super hard cuz an asain yelled at me and distracted me because i was in grade 4 at the time

anyway i broke my collerbone and skiied the rest of the day even tho everytime i did a turn i cried. when my parents asked me what happend i told her a snowboarder in a puffy yellow jacket cliped the front of my skis and made me fall, heh it was worth lying tho cuz they didnt find anybody and my whole family got free passes

im the only badass racer ive ever met tho
 
lol at my home mountain we got a race team called the falcons and they all wear matching blue suits and think there the hotest thing since global warming so we always race em doing switch its pretty fun to ruin the confidence of 8 year olds on skis. It lets me sleep at night
 
i actually considered joining a race team this year because they have a bus to go night skiing al the time. I eventually had give into the reality that if i ever saw myself in that skin tight shit, I would kill myself. I prob passed up the oppourtuniyt to be a much better skier cause I couldnt deal with looking like a faggot
 
There is nothing wrong with racing besides some of the immature morons that do. Not every racer is a moron. I raced for 3 years to improve my skiing and it helped ten folds. I admit the rush of going dangerously fast down a hill isn't as fun as flying through the air but it may be pretty close.
 
i come from a family who races, and im the only freerider. there are some legit kids who race, but for the most part they are assholes from ny who think they are the shit for going fast on a course. why would you want to do that?
 
all the little kid racers at my hill used to win all the time so the ski patrol would let them cut in line and stuff, and then this year they all thought they were cool cause they all got little twintip skis to race on and now they dont win anymore and now they get yelled at for cutting in line!! :D
 
So so so many pro skiers today started out as racers...

This is just a hypocritical as bashing snowboarders.

And stop saying they are annoying acting like they own the mountain, because you are just saying that you think you own the mountain. Sure I get pissed off when theres a race at my mountain and all the families pack up the fucking lodges to the days, but still, it's all skiing, so jsut accept it and stick to the park. If they are in the park, sure, curb stomp them, but leave them to their ice courses and everyone mind their own buisness on the slopes!

i was laughing at all the racers at the local hill. Shit....i could carve better then the coach. They were fuckin holding their ski poles like a steering wheel and turning the poles in the direction of where they were going....like driving a car. Then me and Lyndon just picked up our poles and started doing car noises besides them made for a good laugh.
 
Lets see...I was on a race team once...It helped me become a better skier both inside and out of the gates...

Sounds like you all have super narrow minds.
 
Wow.. I don't even know where to start on this one. First of all, a LOT of good freeskiers used to be racers. Second of all, I don't know about stupid little 8 year old brats, I don't care whether they race or freeski theyre still annoying as hell.

Everyone on my team does a lot of freeskiing, when it dumps we all go rip up the pow. I ride big mountain a lot, and can do 15+ footers, lots of the guys on my team are crazy, and can do 720s, 900s. Some have freeride sponsorship along with their racing contracts. Stan, and Phil can 360, 540 off cliffs, and do 30ft double stagers. Mind you, this is the *Whistler* team. Hell even our womens team coach, Jordan Williams was the first person ever to hit "air jordan". Everyone here freeskis, and I can tell you right now, there is no way you could beat us going "Switch." I'd love to see anyone try to step up and race lake louise downhill. You're going 125km/h+ and there are multiple airs, you're 10-20 feet up and fly 80+ long, and its icy as hell.

Reabow, or Dominique Gisin is racing for the Swiss worldcup team, she does road gaps, 360 step ups, and switch 270 on/off rails. She just came 2nd place in a world cup DH at Altenmarkt. She tears shit up.

I'd say most racers freeski and about half ride park, and most of them are damn good because theyre crazy to start with. Atleast we can actually ski. I see a lot of "park rats" that cant even fucking ski in and out of the park, theyre sliding up to the hits, and couldn't ski big mountain to save their lives.

So before you get all pissy, realize that A) You're too insecure about your own sexuality, and spandex scares you. B) Who the fuck cares about 10 year old kids, theyre all shitheads regardless of what they ski. C) There are assholes wherever you go, racers and freeskiers. D) I'll race any of you switch anyday.
 
Team Curvo pretty much ownes everyone that dissed racers in this thread. Unfortunly everyone basis there racer opinions on highschool race teams in the US, and has no understanding of really racing anyways. Racing in BC is very different and many racers and coaches from a lot of teams in BC can rip harder than the majority of the people on this site, ill back up a lot of Alberta racers who can rip. Open your eyes your getting out skied by a lot of kids here in Western Canada atleast that don't need to wear jerseys and baggly clothles all the time to try and pretend there good skiers and fit in
 
i guess if racing is you thing then go ahead but id rather sesh the park all day then ski down the same icy line bashing myself into poles all day

P.S. i can actually ski
 
Or, you know... you could race/train when the snow is shit and ski big mountain and backcountry hits when it's worth it.

I think that we are bashing the little kid racers who are 10-12,cut you off in the park, get in the way of the jump lines, and think they are the shit, not all racers.

I know that a lot of freeskiers used to be racers, but that wasn't the point of the thread. I used to race too, but that doesn't mean I was one of those annoying little kids. Not all racers are assholes, and yes, I am aware that some racers ski park too. But they know the park flow and the unwritten rules, and I don't have a problem with them.

I don't need all the names to know that there are good racers still. I ride with some. Don't get me started on the "we can actually ski" shit, cause I am now more a "park rat" than before, yet I used to race. I still know how to ski, but in the park I don't care about the extra .02, or how far I am on edge, or if my turn is 6 inches too early. It's a different type of skiing, and not all "sliding up to hits" is bad. Sometimes it's better than aggressive carving racer style. And if my life depended on it, I could ski big mountain. Actually I try to do it as much as I can.

This arguement can go either way. While you say that no park rats can ski to save their lives, I'm sure that all the "rats" say that racers couldn't ski backcountry, or hit jumps or cliffs to save theirs... but you've already proven this wrong, so don't try to turn the arguement around.

As far as your bullet system goes...

A. Girls + Spandex + anything = Great

Guys + racing + spandex = maybe necessary

Guys + spandex = gay

B and C. Completly true, and unfortuatly, neither of us can change this.

D. I'm ready.
 
some racers are cocky as shit and i dont like them, but i still have respect for some, the ones that compete at high level are speeding down a ice track at speeds of close to 100km/hr and they hit rollers and go massive onto more blue death ice, i mean that does take alot of balls
