Race bases for park

What do you mean by "Race Base"?
Are you talking about the underside of the ski being in racing condition? freshly smoothed, and waxed with no real scrapes
OR
Are you talking about the plastic pieces that are mounted on the ski, and then the binding is mounted on them to add stiffness and raise your binding up. (I've always called these "race plates")

Aren't the extruded bases just cheaper? Or is there anothet bennefit i the park.

it's not just extruded vs sintered, there are different qualities and characteristics to them. also extruded is garbage
OP yeah you can def use race bases in the park. a few park (well, pipe) skis have had race bases. just means more maintenance really. i wish i could have em on all my skis

The edges are what you really need to worry about. The super sharp racer edges are going to catch on a rail and send you flying

Also FYI the smash does not have a race base I'm not sure it even has a sintered base. It's a cheap tweener ski.

I mean one weekend I had my race skis, because I left my park skis at home, and I did some park and could 360 and front 2 them, so it really doesn't effect preformance for easy tricks

in other words, yes they have some good skis but their price-to-utility/quality ratio is NOT consistent and dependable and for that reason i don't think it's silly at all to call them out or to just not be impressed with them as a brand
i'm sure plenty of kids will cry out at that because their breakfast cereal-style marketing is so pervasive here but it's true, ive watched Line develop as a company since 1999 and they're just not as dependable as other companies
