I know i will get a shit ton of hate for this one but...
It is an awful thing that CR and shane died and they deserve a top video.like a tribute. but does there really need to be 9 videos of them (some of them the same) on the top rated page. and i know making this thread wont do anything, because if you rate any of the R.I.P. videos your kind of a dick. but i feel like whenever i go to find a sick edit all i get is the same thing taking up the whole top page. and i (personally, also gonna get hate for this) believe that some of these videos were uploaded by people who just wanted a top video because they knew it would get rated high... /rant

But totally agree with you. I can see being top rated for a month or few months..but..idk i dont really care anyway.

Ya i know what ya mean especially like some people probs just wanted the top rated video credit but ya gotta pay your respects. The in deep segment should be up there either way and along with Some of the CR vids. But i know where your comin from
 
i agree. and i think i came off harsh. but im just sayin automatically whenever a rip video comes on it is to the top and stays there forever
 
personally i think that tribute videos or other such segments should be permanently stickied or something in the video section. this way they aren't really a part of top rated, but are always honored. they wouldn't be subjected to disrespectful down-rating, and wouldn't bother people such as the OP by bumping out other vids, as they apparently do.
 
I think this is a great idea. I like how the top rated video page is kept fresh. It would be great if the tribute specific vids could be moved to their own section.
 
same with pictures... go look at the top pics hoot brown will probly be number 1 followed by a pic of either shane or CR
 
i was litterally just expalining the same thoughts to my homie the other day.there needs (sadly) to be a legends section. but i like having top rated fresh, it moves around alot except the RIP videos wich are always there. and they should always be somewhere (legends sectoin) but top rated is not where they should be. there better then the top rated section, they should have their own
 
More people should be hating on OP in this thread. I just clicked top rated expecting a barrage of CR video duplicates and instead found 1 CR and 1 McConkey video in the top 10, 4 or 5 more CR videos on the first page and 1 more McConkey one at the bottom. Then there are still a bunch of dope edits all over the first page. I think everything considered that is completely appropriate.
 
Ambitionz of a Ridah, Tom Wallisch GoPro edit, Mike Hornbeck self edit, and many of the other first page edits have been on there way longer than any of the CR ones.
 
I wish there was a top rated section for like all time and one for like the last month. Even a daily top rated section would be cool because right now your pictures basically disappear forever after they move from the first page.
I think a month is enough time for a picture to get enough votes to make it to the all time top rated section if it is destined to.
Really though, even the R.I.P stuff does eventually thin out, so only the best couple stay at the top forever. I think it is super cool that tributes stay at the top of the top. It totally shows how the freeskiing community has not lost it's soul.
 
this, like all the RIP's and any seggys that changed skiing or way way ahead of there time. and also maybe a page with justa ton of old sick segments because alot of NS needs to be educated on their roots.
 
and by the way you can hold me to what i said because i said there are 9 videos on the page. so i dont know what there is to hate on

i agree 100 %. WHen i click the top rated section i expect to see edits being rated high because they're good edits, not because the skier past away and deserves respect, but we should have a place for that outside the video section.
 
i think that they should just clean up the top rated page every once in a while
like if a video is there for a long ass time there should be like a platnum hit section or something
 
I like the "Legends" idea.
Maybe a top-rated hall of fame? That way, top rated would stay fresh and current. The top rated hall of fame could be made up of videos with maybe 5000+ views and a rating of 9 or better with some sort of minimum number of ratings. The hall of fame should be sortable by date.
Also, I wish the video search feature worked a bit better...I struggle to rundown videos quite a bit. I also wish people did a better job tagging videos. EVERY video should be tagged with the riders, the filmer, location filmed at, song used, and the year...it would make browsing way better, and knock down the 15 "what park is that and what song is that" comments.
 
In the minute and a half that it took you to type this thread, you could've gotten yourself a glass of chocolate milk. I argue that that would have been equally, or even more worthwhile.
