so, my dad bought me this years big troubles with the look px12 jib bindings (yes a very sick setup) for christmas and made me promise ide get 4 a's and 4 b's on my next report card. i thought he was kidding. so, report card time... didnt fulfill my end of the deal so now he is probably giving them to my friends mom. and the skis were a christmas present and my dad makes 700,000 a year(richboy) and hes taking them away to be a dick. and frankly, i want to die right now. show some love
 
Well, since you are probobly still in highschool, you put 30 minutes a week into school and get a 4.0 and then BAM new skis.
 
ive been buying my own shit since i was way younger than 14. dont be a bum. pay for them yourself and then their yours and nobody can take them from you

just do what i do give ur parents some money upfront have the buy the shit then pay them back gradualy

same, accept next year they said they are paying for part of my college tuition so they wont pay for any ski stuff at all, looks like im getting 2 jobs this summer

when you promise something you should at least put the efforts to respect them.

wow, you guys are fucking dicks. those skis were my christmas present from my dad who makes 7 hundred K a year. and you wouldnt be being dicks if you knew how many times he takes my mom to court and tries to get me to stay at his house more so he doesnt have to pay child support which is like 0.0001 percent of his income.
 
yea dude, no sympathy here. as soon as i turned 14, i walked down to McDs, the only place around that would hire me, got a job, and busted my ass to buy skis. i think my rents bought boots or something, and that was the last i ever really got. now, your pop handed you a what, 7-800 dollar setup, and all you had to do was get decent grades in middleschool. not too hard. at least your dad has some balls, you need to realize shit sucks sometimes. deal with it. and you can still ski an work.

get a tutor? and you can get a job under the table at 14, that and 1-2 paychecks will get you an amazing setup right now
 
haha im not that stupid i dont need a tudor. i just didn't get an a or a b in english because my english teacher is crazy. im in ski academy and she was suposed to give me a detailed booklet on my assignments that i had to hand in, and she gave me a sticky note with the word "journal" and "pursuasive P." written on it

then it should be way easy to get decent grades since its only middle school. grow up and sack up sally.
 
dude, getting A's and B's really shouldn't be all that hard when you're 14. and yeah, if you won't put the neccessary amount of time into school to get the grades you neeed to get skis, then put that time into a job...get a paper route or mow some lawns if nobody will hire you. if i had the choice, i'd get good grades.
 
Ouuuuuch. Man just scrounge up like $50 and buy some skis that are like owned but still work... I rode on scratches with 1ft of edge missing for like 5 months until the bindings died.
 
I really doubt child support has anything at all to do with your skis. It is almost one hundred percent irrelevant. you made a promise that you would get good grades and you didnt. tough shit

if u did get the grades u and ur dad promised on and he didnt get u ur skis than we would be remorseful but now we arent

dude. i have had a fucking job but i quit cause i got paid 15 bucks for 6 hours of working. and my dad just moved from the east coast of the us to here aka west side of canada. and my moms not that rich. therefore, i have been rich for like 6 months.
 
how many times do people keep brigning up the fact that there was a two way deal attached to the christmas present? about a billion. no one feels sorry for you.
 
the only things we know about you and your oh-so-tragic situation is what youve told us. so if no one knows the deal, its your own fault.

what ive gathered is

a) you failed to live up to your end of a deal that you agreed to.

b) youre in a ski academy, which probably means you have another pair of skis.

c) you probably havnt shelled out a dime for any of the foregoing items.

 
They were a conditional gift. If you rent an appartment and then don't pay rent, you're getting kicked out. Different situation in your case, but same basic principle

Hey man, do you hate your parents or something? Here your dad is saying he'll buy you skis for Christmas if you get good grades. So he buys you skis and you don't get the grades. Sounds like a fair game to me. Then you come on here and say how shitty he is for being loaded and not just "giving" you skis. I'm sure he'd be hurt if he saw the shit you were saying man. Respect your parents dude.

thats life, thats how shit goes when you work min. wage. i did it for years, yeah, its not great... buck up, quit crying, and work a fucking job or get good grades.

and on top of that, what kind of message would your dad be sending you by making a deal, having you not fulfill your end, and then saying 'oh, thats ok, you didn't really need to fulfill your obligations. you sure called me out!"

also, if you can't get A's and B's when you are 14, consider getting used to wage labor. college is fuck ton harder than the 8th or 9th grade.
 
that was the most impacting comment so far. i completely understand where your coming from but its completely different. he always promises me stuff so i will stay at his house to seal the deal and he never brings it up again. and if i stay at his house more than half the hime he doesnt have to pay child support. and he makes a fuckload compared to my mom.
