Luc Bourdon, a first round pick (10th overall) for the Vancouver Canucks from the 2005 NHL Entry draft was killed this morning in a motorcycle accident. Although not a star player, he was still an important asset to the team as an excellent skater and a powerful offensive player.

He was instrunmental in Canada's gold-medal win at the 07 world juniors with four points in six games, as well as six points in as many games at the 06 tourny in Vancouver, in which Canada took the win over Russia. Although he never got the chance to prove himself as a true Canuck, he had very high expectations placed on his shoulders and he will truly be missed.

RIP Luc Bourdon.

RIP Luc Bourdon

He was destined for a bright future with the canucks and was going to be a big part of their future.

I still remember screaming BOURDON BOURDON BOURDON when he scored that goal in the 3rd period to tie the game against the US in the World Junior Semi-Finals in Vancouver against the United States.

Class act all around, and a true Canadian. He will be greatly missed.

Yeah. Apparently there were gusts of 50km/h winds at the time... he crossed the middle line and crashed into/got hit by and tractor/trailer
