im assuming everybody heard bout this... but anyways, i didnt know the guy, but at Trollhaugen on saturday he was trying Rodeos over the biggest jump troll has and had landed a few before but on this last one he was going way way way to fast and over shot, over roatated the flip and spin. he was airlifted to Regions Hospital and was immeaditly put on life support, there was nothing they could do. he was just takein off life support a little while ago. R.I.P Caleb. +++vibes to the family, im sorry for your loss.

just thought id share what went down saturday if you hadnt heard bout this accident.
 
RIP and ++vibes to his family and friends. also, everyone here should use this as reminders.... speed checks, helmets, and all other safety precautions... I never hit jumps that u need to bomb to clear or jumps that are too small for the hill, and this is why. be safe

holly crap thats really scary. im never hitting that jump again. me and nick were there until around 3 that day. im Joel by the way.

but these kinds of things just stress the need to wear helmets, even if you are 21 or 22. Jesus, wear your helmet no matter what, especially if your jumping.
 
personally i hit that jump and it was one of the best jumps i ever have hit...i really like it...but that's just me. again though, mad vibes to the family RIP
 
No, I didn't do that, but! I was there when you did that (in that park), and I agree with Tseyffer, I really enjoyed that jump.

A Lake Elmo man has died from injuries suffered in a snowboarding accident late Saturday afternoon.

21 year old Caleb Szajner was boarding with his sister and a friend at Trollhaugen Ski Area in Dresser, Wis., when he attempted an aerial flip and hit his head.

Szajner was transported to St. Croix Falls Hospital, then airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Tuesday afternoon, he was removed from life support and his organs were donated for transplantation.

"At 4:15 this afternoon, he was taken to the operating room and the immediate family was able to be with him when his life support was discontinued," a posting on Caleb Szajner's CaringBridge Web site attributed to the Szajner family stated on Tuesday night.

"We were able to sit at his head and hold his hand as we watched his heart stopped. It took place at 5:34."

His parents, Amos and Sue Szajner said their faith, along with knowing their son was happy has helped them to better understand his death.

"He loved his family, he loved his siblings, he loved all that he was doing," said his father. "God gave him the satisfaction in doing things and he was content."

His sister shot video of the jump and in it, Caleb took off awkwardly, couldn't recover and hit his head.

He wasn't wearing a helmet at the time, but doctors say he hit his head in such a way, a helmet likely wouldn't have helped.

"God chose to take him doing what he loved a lot, he loved snowboarding," said his father.

Rather than second guess what happened, the family chooses to reflect, remember and celebrate the nearly 22 years they spent with Caleb.

"It's still not easy, we'll miss him in that way," his father said tearfully.

"When I carried Caleb, God had already had this in his plan," said his mother.

The manager at Trollhaugen says this is the first fatality in the ski area's 59-year history.

Caleb Szajner is survived by three younger siblings, Leah, Hannah and Levi. A home-schooled student, he graduated from Century College and was enrolled in a nursing program through the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

He attended Sovereign Grace Community Church in Mahtomedi.

The visitation will be on Friday from 4-8pm at Rock Point Church in Lake Elmo. The funeral will be on Saturday, also at Rock Point Church at 1pm. The address for the church is: 5825 Kelvin Ave N Lake Elmo, MN 55042
