Last night my friend hit his head in a big air comp trying a cork 7. He got knocked out and was taken out in a helicopter. Luckily, he was wearing a helmet. The foam completely broke and most of the shell with it. Every doctor we talked to said he would have died without it.

Let this be a lesson, helmets are good. It's also a testament to the credibility of R.E.D.
 
i was at a comp and a guy tried to throw down a cork 9, didnt uncork and same thing, blacked out for 5 minutes and cracked the back of his bern.
 
haha fuck that, RED helmets suck dick, there so light and shity. if he was wearing a Holt of G10 i bet he woulda got knocked out for like a sec n been a bit dizy. i had one last year and got a crazy concusion i couldnt stimulate my brain for 3 days and as ure friend they said id be dead without the helmet but then i got a new helmet and realised that my helmet sucked huge cock
 
damn...++++vibes for him! any word on how he is doing? and how was the comp? i was gonna stay and watch but i hit some ice earlier in the day and my hip was killing me so i left
 
A smith holt helped me last season when I knocked myself out. Not as bad as this guy but I retired it after one hard hit. I have a RED Trace now this season.
 
always wear your helmet and pay your deuse man.and ++++vibes to shane and his family .Hopefully he'll be out of the hospital man.

 
word on wearing helemets i'm not rocking a R.E.D i got my tripple 8 skate helmet but deff a good idea to wear a lid bucket
 
well if he had a moustache as well as his helmet he would have been fine haha. but yeah i think helmets should be made mandatory in all parks. ++++ vibes i hope he is doing fine and on the road to full recovery.
 
last yr i had a serious crash at Mount Snow Freeskiing Open and I had bleeding in my brain and the doctors told me the same thing.
 
GIRO saved my life last year at loon on a handrail, i blacked out and dont remember eight ours of my life, doctor said i would be dead without it.
 
similar thing happend to me a few years back, I was out for a couple minutes and went into a seizure from the impact.

werd ++++++vibes I have an old R.E.D. shaun white from a few years back thing has gone through hell and back I should prob retire it but season in pa is almost over so it should hold out
 
For real. Im amazed that some people dont wear helmets. There is no reason not to. You will always be able to find one that fits you and your style. Head injuries and freak accidents dont give a fuck how good you think you are.
