Tons of people ride this helmets beaucse it looks great and they are a light helmet.And i personly ride one.But how safe are these helmets.I have got my fair amount of cuncusions with my helmet.One example..i was riding pipe ( dont ussuly ) beaucse i wanted to learn backflips so i went for one and i got it and ya i learned them and could do them all the time but one time it was a really icy night and im going pretty fast and i drop in ..go up ..see the lip of the pipe ..and everything went pitch black.then some random kids were shaking me and telling me to get up.They said i was out for like 10 min.I had no clue where i was and i didnt know what happend.They told me i went up for the backflip slipped back on ice smashed my head then caused me to do a frontflip onto my neck and took my shoulder out of place also with serious brain damage.So the doctor told me i couldnt ski for 2-3 months ino i shouldnt of have but i love skiing so much so i was back out the after 2 weeks..the scary thing is i went to go check out my helmet about 3 days after this happend and the whole back of the helmet was craked into half and there was a chunk missing..i got a new one..

How are they working out so far for you ? i peronly love em ..but ya my head doesnt

so the story says is that the helmet saved your live and only caused you to get a cuncusion...if you hadnt been wearing it your head would have craked instead of the helmet.

helmets arnt these magic things that if you put on will protect you from everything. if you smash your head off ice really hard your gonna crack your helemt...same thing if you are skiing donw a trail and hit a tree head first...the helmet is not going to magicly make you not get hurt.

i think its something like if you are going over 30mph a helmet is not going to do nething if you fall.
 
^ so yeah, pretty much what he said, for sure wasnt the helmets falt that you were out, 2 peices of advice, 1 dont fall on yo head, and 2, wear a astronaught helmet, storm trooper ones work good too
 
Well a helmet can't garentee you won't fuck yourself up.

Sounds liek you hit your head pretty hard, i've any other helmet out there would have provided teh same amount of protection. Imagine if you hadn't been wearing it.
 
I'm not an expert but I'm fairly sure a company like R.E.D. do independent random testing on their helmets to make sure they're up to standard. Sounds like you almost certainly would've died without a helmet!
 
Also does riding hat with goggles under the helmet make it worse or less protection and if it does why?? but with my fall i had the helmet on with goggles on top but im starting to ride hat with gogles underneath it more comfty and looks better..and ino its not all about looks but i personly like it better
 
no helmets will block out all pain on a bad fall but any helmet is better then wearing nothing.
