Quotes for an essay

so in my english class, we're writing a practice college application essay, and the topic is "write about a defining moment in your life and how it influenced you" i choose to write about skiing, more specifically, the first time i skiied, and how it basically gave me a purpose in life.

so does anybody have any profound quotes about skiing and its influence on our lives that i could use? something you always thought summed up everything that skiing is, that thing that makes us take winter over summer, that feeling you get when your on top of an awesome line, that which drives you to skip an exam for that epic powder day? sorry im probably getting to deep here, basically anything that has ever struck a chord with you.

thanks for your help, guys

"skiing is like sex, a good day is orgasmic (pun so heavily intended it's unreal) and a bad day is still pretty fucking sick"

i already searchbarred, if thats what your thinking....found a couple good ones, but i need a little more that a bunch of ns inside jokes

if you have one off the top of your head you think i could use, share it, and thanks.

if not, no need to go trawling through google or the searchbar

"You put on your boots, click into
your bindings, dust the snow off
your skis, and head out for the
chair, and it doesn't matter
that you failed a test, didn't
get the girl, or that your life is
on a one way trip down the shitter,
your world is right for the next
couple of hours".

idk if this is exactly what your looking for, but it was pretty good.

don't write a cheesy ass essay dude! Seriously, you aren't going to fool anyone if you wax philosophical about skiing, just be honest and use your own words. They will see right through your bullshit otherwise.
