Quote reply notification?

Sorry if I am being a massive noob here or if this is a repost, is there a way of telling if someone has quote replied to one of your comments in the forums or do you have to just check back, if not that may be a cool idea to add in like a message in your inbox saying something! thanks
 
There is absolutely no notifications on Newschoolers. Do we need them? Maybe.

History has always been that you basically just troll NS all day long to make sure you don't miss anything.

However, the wide world of the interwebz has gotten very advanced, and it may be time to re-assess.

We can build it, but doing so would require us to construct an entire notification system on the site. Not impossible at all, but not something we can implement with the flick of a switch.
 
Thanks for the info, just an idea so no worries if its too difficult, always happy to continually "troll" about newschoolers.
 
wow came to SD to say this... it seems pretty important. when you quote someone, it would be nice to get a reply and this would help so much
 
if you really want any easy way to check....

hit control-f while on the thread page (search function). enter your username. hit enter to cycle through all the matches. if someone has quoted you it will say "quoted 'USERNAME' at 'time':" and it will show up in the search.
 
I support this.

There are countless of examples where i have posted.. gold. Brilliance, if you may, and i had to check back at it if i were acknowledged. But nooooo, nobody gets me.

Glad to know that others agree with the idea, they should hopefully be able to make that change possibly in the next update although Mr. Bishop did say it was difficult.

I just think it would make life much easier as often there isn't really enough time to look back at all the threads that I may have commented in and then to find where I commented and also to see if someone has said anything to me.
 
YEah dib completely agree, it will also enable you to see that other folk have posted on your thread or video easier.
