Quitting NSG

Alas, I must quit. I have realized that at times I do upset many fellow newschoolers on here with my opinions and often attacks against them. While at the same time, some obviously agree with me I do not enjoy knowing that others look negatively upon me. But cheers, ill be over in Gear Talk, and Ski Gabber.

Making other skiers upset with me, especially about politics, is not something I need to be a part of.

Cheers, ndye

PS vote for bernie

Grow another layer of skin and get back in here. As much as you may think you've riled people, understand this is the internet. This is not a tangible medium. This doesn't matter in real life. People don't give a shit what you say on here, and understand that what people are like on an internet forum is not at all what they're like in real life.

This seems like it stems more from people not agreeing with you rather than them being upset. If you're confident in your opinion then fuck em... No reason to take different opinions as a personal attack on ya

Dude wat? You're leading the vote for MOTM? Get back in here. I know that sometimes the discussions here can get frustrating, but for the past couple months you've consistently been throwing out good ideas and having mature conversations about complex shit.

No one looks at you negatively. If they do, it's for a shitty reason. You've been posting a shit ton lately, so you can always cut back and be more of a reader, only dipping in occasionally (my style). I like you, don't leave.

Oh no its not that I feel like im getting personally attacked, that has little-nothing to do with it. Its when others recoil that I feel bad, I have never worried about what others have said to me on the internet, just what I say on the internet and how it affects other people and/or their ability to discuss things.

Ill take a week away and come back to NSG, read for the most part. Would suit me well to be a viewer for a bit rather than a debater.

it is going to be the same ol same ol when you return. I just like returning for the festival and gym thread in NSG besides the edits and ski gabber.

I disagree with the absoluteness of this statement. Certainly, there are people who come onto the internet to create characters and play games with people. NS is no exception. However, I expect that a much larger majority is actually representing their own ideas and views on topics.

I like to think that people read the discussions we have in NSG (and other forums) and learn from them. One could learn the popular arguments about mainstream issues and their shortcomings, their counterarguments, and the rebuttals to those. I have certainly learned a good bit on NS - if it hasn't been directly pointed it in an opinionated post, it directs my attention elsewhere to read about it. I've learned to be open to new ideas and to consider new perspectives. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but for me NSG is a community filled with characters with whom I'm familiar, even if just by icon. I have a sense of many members' leanings on many issues, and reading the discourse between these members (and sometimes contributing myself and receiving feedback) helps me shape, reshape, and reconsider my opinions on everything.

I prefer to lurk unless something really peaks my interest.

Sad to see a non-crappy member go, but I feel your pain. Good luck in whatever you end up doing with the time you usually waste on here.

Chyea boi, quite, as you would read in the thread though, im taking some time off debating in NSG, and have still been actively posting in the other portions. I write a lot of articles, post pictures, videos, etc.

Taking some time off debating in NSG does not mean I have dissapeared from newschoolers.
